Sacred Heart High School, Parra Shines with Double Gold at State Judo Championship


It’s a moment of immense pride for Sacred Heart High School, Parra, as two of its talented students have emerged victorious at the Goa State Judo Championship, organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Goa.

Narayan Chanappa Khandpanavar showcased outstanding skill and determination to secure 1st place in the U-17 Boys’ category, while Sameeksha Santosh Nandahali delivered a stellar performance to win 1st place in the U-14 Girls’ category.

The championship brought together some of Goa’s best young judo athletes, and both Narayan and Sameeksha stood out for their agility, discipline, and competitive spirit. Their victories are a testament to the hard work they’ve put in under the guidance of their coaches and the support from their school.

The achievements have brought immense joy and pride to the Sacred Heart High School community. These wins not only highlight the talent of the students but also underscore the importance of nurturing sports at the grassroots level in Goa.

The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs continues to play a vital role in promoting sportsmanship and creating opportunities for young athletes to excel on state and national stages.

RCC Mapusa Clinches Top Honors at State Judo Championship 2024-25


The Goa Judo Association successfully hosted day one of the State Judo Championship 2024-25 on March 29th, drawing an enthusiastic response with over 300 judokas participating across Cadet, Sub Junior, and Senior categories.

In a display of strength and skill, RCC Mapusa emerged victorious in both the Senior Men and Senior Women categories, solidifying their dominance in the state’s judo circuit.

“We received a very good response across all three age groups at the State Judo Championship 2024-25. It was encouraging to see the enthusiasm and competitive spirit among the participants. With over 300 judokas taking part, the championship showcased the growing interest and talent in judo across the state,” said Kripesh Vengurlekar, Secretary of the Goa Judo Association.

The championship was inaugurated by Mrs. Priya Mishal, Chairperson of the Mapusa Municipal Council, who attended as the Chief Guest. She praised the participants for their dedication and commended the Goa Judo Association for providing a platform to nurture young sporting talent.

The Goa Judo Association extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and participants for their exemplary performances. The event served as a testament to the growth of judo in Goa and the remarkable talent emerging from the state’s training centers and clubs.
