The World’s Shortest Flight — Just 90 Seconds from Takeoff to Touchdown

Yes, it’s real.
The world’s shortest scheduled passenger flight operates between Westray and Papa Westray, two remote islands in the Orkney archipelago of Scotland. Operated by regional airline Loganair, this remarkable journey spans just 2.7 km — a distance shorter than many international airport runways.

With only 10 seats, and an average airborne time of 53 seconds, the total flight from start to finish clocks in at just 90 seconds.

But despite its brevity, this isn’t a gimmick.
It’s a necessity.

A Lifeline in the Skies

For the residents of these islands, this micro-flight is more than just a novelty. It’s an essential link to the mainland for:

  • Healthcare
  • Education
  • Work
  • Emergency services

On some days, schoolchildren board this flight to get to class. On others, it may carry urgent medical supplies or serve as a critical route for those needing quick access to services not available on the smaller island.

When Connection Beats Speed

In a world obsessed with high-speed transport, this tiny plane reminds us of a deeper truth: sometimes, the most meaningful innovation is simply keeping people connected — no matter the scale.

So the next time you’re in a rush to get somewhere, remember:
Speed may thrill, but connection saves.

Samsung’s Foldable Smartphone Series Receives 2.1 Lakh Pre-Orders in 48 Hours in India

Pan-India Surge in Demand Highlights Foldable Trend Taking Off Among Premium Consumers

Samsung has announced a groundbreaking milestone with its latest foldable smartphone lineup receiving an overwhelming 2.1 lakh pre-orders within just 48 hours of launch in India. This milestone firmly establishes consumer confidence in foldable devices and Samsung’s dominance in the premium smartphone segment.

The pre-orders reflect a significant shift in user interest from traditional slab phones to innovative foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip. With refined design, robust performance, and practical multi-tasking features, the foldable series continues to attract both tech enthusiasts and fashion-conscious consumers.

Samsung India stated that the demand surpasses expectations and mirrors India’s increasing acceptance of high-end innovation. The company has been aggressively marketing the foldables as lifestyle tools rather than just tech devices, and it appears the strategy is working.

Samsung’s success with its foldables could serve as a turning point for the segment’s growth in India. With rising aspirations, expanding disposable incomes, and interest in futuristic design, India is quickly becoming a key market for next-gen smartphones.

What’s Next?
Industry watchers expect the numbers to climb further as retail availability and demo experiences increase across metro and Tier-II cities. Meanwhile, Samsung continues to invest in ecosystem support—from accessories to service networks—to support this wave of adoption.

From early adopters to loyal Galaxy fans, this record-breaking response signals that India is more than ready for foldable technology. Samsung has taken the lead—again—in shaping the smartphone evolution.
