Social Impact Conclave Goa 2025 Showcases Digital Responsibility, Neighbourhood Bonds & Community Values

Written by Tanisha Cardozo || Team Allycaral

The Social Impact Conclave Goa 2025, hosted by Voice Up and co-hosted by the Rights of Neighbours Campaign, brought together influencers, youth leaders, and community voices to reflect on the evolving role of digital creators in shaping society. The event opened with remarks by Mr. Muzammil, a member of SIO, who expressed that the conclave was designed to create voices capable of influencing society with empathy and responsibility. He reminded participants that true influence lies not in popularity but in impact, compassion, and accountability, qualities that every digital creator must uphold in todayโ€™s fast-paced online world.

The keynote address was delivered by veteran journalist Shree Prakash Kamat, who explored the immense power influencers hold in shaping public thought. He emphasised that content must be rooted in constitutional values and civic conscience to contribute meaningfully to society. Warning that purposeless content easily descends into trolling, he urged creators to maintain integrity and consistency in the values they represent, using their platforms thoughtfully and responsibly.

One of the most engaging sessions, โ€œGood Neighbours Build a Society,โ€ was led by Dr. Aisha Fidha of GIO. She reflected on the warmth, trust, and solidarity that once characterised neighbourhood life in India, where communities functioned as extended families. Dr. Fidha explained how urban lifestyles and rising individualism have created what she termed โ€œurban coldness,โ€ leaving people emotionally distant despite physical proximity. She highlighted the physical consequences of weakened community bondsโ€”such as increased stress, disturbed sleep, and reduced emergency safetyโ€”as well as psychological effects, including loneliness, anxiety, and social withdrawal. She stressed that neighbourhoods are the first unit of society, and strong neighbourly connections are essential for both social harmony and human well-being.

The programme concluded with a thought-provoking address by Mr. Asif Hussain, Chairman of the Board of Innovative Education. He spoke about the responsibility influencers carry in shaping societyโ€™s moral and emotional landscape. In a powerful remark, he said that โ€œmankind should be heroes, but we have reduced ourselves to zeros,โ€ pointing to humanityโ€™s role in conflicts, environmental degradation, and social chaos. Yet he reminded the audience that positive change is always possible, and that even the darkest moments eventually give way to light. Mr. Hussain encouraged influencers to use their platforms for constructive storytelling by creating reels, videos, and short films that inspire transformation. Urging the youth of Goa to rise to the occasion, he emphasised that meaningful change begins with consistent small efforts, saying, โ€œBoond boond se banta hai samandar.โ€

A total of 24 influencers and change-makers were honoured during the event for their contributions to society through digital media. Among them, Mr. Yunus Shaikh and Mr. Usman Khan Pathan received special recognition for their exceptional work in driving social awareness and promoting impactful causes through their digital skills. Their dedication stood out as an example of how online influence can be used to create real-world change.

โ€˜Pillars of Progress: The Epic Story of Delhi Metroโ€™ Premieres at 55th IFFI

Directed by Mr. Satish Pande and produced by Mr. Anuj Dayal, the documentary Pillars of Progress: The Epic Story of Delhi Metro was premiered at the 55th International Film Festival of India, Goa. the film narrates the inspiring journey of the Delhi Metro and its pivotal role in revolutionizing urban transportation in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The event began with the screening of the trailer, offering a glimpse into the Metroโ€™s evolution from its initial planning phases to becoming one of the worldโ€™s largest urban transport systems. The documentary covers key milestones, such as the implementation of cutting-edge technology like driverless trains, incorporating elements for environmental benefits, and the operational challenges of constructing a massive infrastructure network in a city as historically complex as Delhi.

Director Satish Pande, who has been documenting the progress of the Delhi Metro for over three decades, shared insights about the purpose of the film: – โ€œThis documentary serves as a historical record of the Delhi Metroโ€™s transformation over the past 35 years. It captures the challenges, innovations, and the remarkable impact this project has had on millions of lives.โ€

Producer Anuj Dayal, reflecting on the significance of the Delhi Metro, remarked: โ€œThe Delhi Metro represents the largest urban development intervention in independent India. Despite initial skepticism and numerous challenges, we successfully built a world-class network that now spans 400 kilometers, providing safe, reliable, and environmentally sustainable transportation to over 17 lakh daily commuters. This documentary celebrates these achievements and preserves the journey for posterity.โ€

During the discussion, Mr. Anuj Dayal highlighted how the Delhi Metro integrated advanced infrastructure into an ancient and densely populated city, achieving global recognition for its innovations and sustainability. He further noted that the lessons learned from building of the Kolkata Metro, Indiaโ€™s first metro system, played a crucial role in shaping Delhi Metroโ€™s success.

Mr. Satish Pande expressed openness to exploring cinematic storytelling beyond documentaries. โ€œWhile this documentary captures real-life milestones, we are open to developing feature films based on compelling narratives inspired by the Delhi Metro. Such a project would require a well-crafted storyline and a fresh creative approach.โ€

With Phase Four of the network underway, Mr. Satish Pande hinted at creating another documentary upon its completion, showcasing the continued growth and impact of the Metro. The filmmakers reaffirmed their commitment to documenting the Metroโ€™s progress and exploring new formats to narrate this compelling story.

Hello June – New Month, New You

Hey Guys!

We have almost reached half way through 2020 and all I can say – What a year it has been so far. Within just 06 months we came across situations and circumstances that questioned us about several things. Right from things that we took for granted to the fact that we have reached a stage where in order to be safe and to safeguard others we had to be at home.

Things that we so took for granted like may be going out for buying groceries, breathing without a mask, going out of the house freedom. Today we all are highly aware of how privileged we are to enjoy all these little things of life. Breathing fresh air, going out of the house without mask, stocking of groceries.

As we begin this new month today of June – I felt we should take a moment to make note of the things that we are grateful about – Be it a roof over our head, Be it a Safe Place to Live in, Having atleast essentials at home, Having Internet that helps us connect to our near and dear ones, in this difficult moment being safe, having our loved ones by our side and seeing them safe.

I know we haven’t reach the end, the Covid 19 pandemic is still on and we all have to live with it. But this is by itself a huge lesson, this whole process or experience taught us – to have greater appreciation for the small things in life, because the small things are really the big things. Will always look back to this phrase with gratitude. #GraciaGod๐ŸŒผ

Have an amazing rest of 2020. Remember it is still not over, let’s make the most of the rest of 2020. Still have high hopes that #2020ismine๐Ÿฆ‹
