Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman (born 18 August 1959) is an Indian economist and politician. She is a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament, representing Karnataka since 2016 and previously represented Andhra Pradesh from 2014 to 2016. On 31 May 2019, Nirmala Sitharaman was appointed as the finance and corporate affairs minister.

For the first time ever, Konkani interpretation will be available for the entire Lok Sabha proceedings, thanks to the appointment of three Konkani Consultant Interpreters and the efforts led by Hon’ble CM Dr. Pramod Sawant. This landmark initiative will be live from 18 August 2025.
