On February 14, 2019, what began as a routine convoy movement along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway turned into one of the deadliest terror attacks in recent Indian history. A suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a convoy of the Central Reserve Police Force in Pulwama, killing 40 personnel.

The attack sent shockwaves across India. Images of smoke rising from the highway flooded television screens. Families waited anxiously for confirmation. The country watched in grief as coffins draped in the tricolour arrived in hometowns across states.

Responsibility for the bombing was claimed by Jaish-e-Mohammed, escalating already fragile tensions between India and Pakistan. In the days that followed, India carried out airstrikes in Balakot, marking a significant shift in its response to cross-border terrorism. The episode triggered diplomatic offensives, international scrutiny and a renewed debate over national security strategy.

Speculation around BTS performing in India has reached a new high after BTS member V dropped a tantalising hint during a Weverse live interaction on December 27. Responding to a fan greeting, V said, “Namaste, Indian ARMYs. See you next year,” a brief but powerful message that has sent Indian fans into a frenzy.

The comment comes as BTS prepares for a major comeback in 2026 after a nearly four-year hiatus. The globally acclaimed K-pop group has already confirmed that they are working on a new album, which is expected to release in March 2026, followed by a large-scale world tour. While V did not confirm specific dates or locations, fans have taken his words as a strong indication that India could finally be part of BTS’ tour itinerary.

All seven members of BTS reunited in June 2025 after completing their mandatory military service and have since been focused on individual projects while simultaneously planning the group’s return. With their reunion now complete, the group is reportedly gearing up for what is being described as one of their biggest eras yet.

According to a report by Bloomberg, HYBE is planning BTS’ “biggest tour ever” following the release of their 2026 album. The tour is expected to begin in spring 2026 and may include between 60 and 65 shows across the globe, with North America and Europe likely to be major stops.

Indian fans are eagerly awaiting official confirmation, especially as India has increasingly become a hotspot for major international concerts. Recent successful performances by global artists such as Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, and Enrique Iglesias have reinforced the country’s growing prominence on the global touring circuit.

The day stands as a reminder of the swift 13-day military campaign that led to the surrender of Pakistani forces and the creation of Bangladesh, marking one of the most decisive moments in South Asian history.

Leaders across the country paid homage to the soldiers who fought with exceptional bravery and determination. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior political leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, honoured the courage and sacrifices of the armed forces, acknowledging their role in safeguarding the nation’s values and sovereignty.

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated a special gallery dedicated to Param Vir Chakra awardees, highlighting the stories of India’s bravest heroes, including Captain Arun Khetarpal, whose valour continues to inspire generations. Wreath-laying ceremonies and commemorative events were held across the country, bringing together veterans, serving personnel and citizens in remembrance.

The 1971 victory was the result of coordinated operations by the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, working in close cooperation with Bangladesh’s Mukti Bahini. Their combined efforts not only ensured a decisive military success but also altered the geopolitical landscape of the region.
