Imperial Multispecialty Hospital in Margao, Goa, recently hosted a World Health Day Special Digital Poster Competition, themed “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures!” The event drew an overwhelming response from talented individuals across India, showcasing their creativity and passion for health awareness.

The competition aimed to promote health awareness and encourage creative expression through digital posters. Participants from all over the country submitted their entries, highlighting the importance of healthy beginnings for a hopeful future.

Imperial Multi-Speciality Hospital, Margao and Rotary Club of Margao Sunrise Join Hands for Liver Health Camp


In a bid to promote community well-being, Imperial Multi-Speciality Hospital collaborated with the Rotary Club of Margao Sunrise to organize a Liver Health Camp on March 12th. The camp aimed to raise awareness about liver health and provide complimentary screenings, witnessing an overwhelming response with 65 patients benefiting from the initiative.

The camp featured a team of expert medical professionals, led by Dr. Milind Desai, who provided their expertise and support to ensure the success of the initiative. The hospital’s state-of-the-art facilities and advanced medical technology, including the FibroScan machine, enabled the team to conduct non-invasive liver stiffness assessments.

“Recently, the government of India’s Ministry of Health started a campaign for an obesity-free India. In line with this, Imperial Hospital, Margao, organized a Liver Assessment Camp to diagnose and manage fatty liver, which is a sign of obesity and its related complications,” stated Dr. Milind Desai, MD of Imperial Hospital Margao.

Representing the Rotary Club of Margao Sunrise at the camp were Rtn. Sharon Dias, Club President; Rtn. Connie D’Cruz, Community Service Director; Rtn. Joana Dias, TRF Chair; and Rtn. Charmaine Rodrigues. The club’s participation underscored its commitment to community service and its dedication to supporting initiatives that promote health and well-being.

The Liver Health Camp was a resounding success, with a total of 75 people attending the event, including 65 patients and 10 staff members. The initiative not only provided complimentary screenings but also raised awareness about the importance of liver health and the need for regular check-ups.

Her Health First: JIH Women’s Wing Organizes Cancer Awareness Program


Curchorem, Feb 27: The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Women’s Wing, Sanvordem, conducted a Cancer Awareness Program at ASN Galaxy Hall, Curchorem, on February 27, 2025. The event, attended by 65 women, aimed to educate the community on cancer prevention, early detection, and overall health awareness.

Two esteemed medical professionals addressed the gathering. Dr. Samiksha Kuchadkar provided a comprehensive insight into the causes, detection, and diagnosis of cancer through an informative PowerPoint presentation. She emphasized the significance of early screening in combating the disease.

Dr. Shazia Shaikh highlighted the role of proper nutrition in overall health and cancer prevention. She also informed the audience about the various services available at state government hospitals for early cancer detection, encouraging women to take proactive measures for their well-being.
