4-Year-Old Bhumee Naik Narvekar Sets World Record in Konkani Theatre with 7 Shows in a Single Day

In an awe-inspiring feat of talent and endurance, Bhumee Naik Narvekar, born on March 2, 2020, has etched her name in history by becoming the youngest theatre artist to perform in the maximum number of shows of a Konkani drama in a single day. At just 5 years old, Bhumee participated in seven consecutive performances of the same play — ‘Ganv Zala Zantto’ — on May 18, 2025, setting a New World Record.

The record-setting performances took place at the ‘Master Dattaram’ Auditorium in Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda, Goa. Each show lasted two hours, and all were executed with the same cast, under the same production, in a single venue — a rare and remarkable artistic endeavor.

Bhumee played the role of the Neighbourhood Kid, a small yet impactful character in the satirical drama ‘Ganv Zala Zantto’, a production that fuses comedy with a strong social message. Despite her young age, Bhumee displayed exceptional focus, presence, and stamina, leaving the audience and theatre community deeply impressed.

Her achievement was officially recognized by the World Records Book of India, honoring her as the youngest theatre performer to act in the most shows of a Konkani play in a single day.

This prestigious award, which acknowledges outstanding contributions to the performing arts, will be presented to Shri Narvekar during the anniversary celebration of the Goa Hindu Association in Mumbai.

The award, consisting of a shawl and a memento, is a fitting tribute to the decades of dedication and excellence that Gangaram has demonstrated in the theatre sector. Known for his skillful direction, commitment to artistic growth, and rich legacy in Goan theatre, his work has not only left an indelible mark on the local theatre scene but has also earned national and international acclaim.

Gangaram, fondly known as Satish Narvekar, has devoted over 35 years to the theatre industry in Goa. His contribution to the Goan theatre scene has been nothing short of exceptional. One of his most notable achievements came when he won the first prize for best direction for the play Media in the 63rd Maharashtra State Hovanshi Marathi Drama Competition.
