The event was graced by Rtn. David Clemens, Past President of RC Wisconsin Dells, USA, along with Headmistress Dr. Selena D’Souza, Chairman Mr. Mario Po, and several distinguished Rotarians.

MES’s Vasant Joshi College Hosts Shikshan Sanman Honouring 11 Educators & Leaders in Mormugao


Panaji, 6th September 2025: MES’s Vasant Joshi College of Arts & Commerce, Vasco, hosted Shikshan Sanman on the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2025 to honour 11 principals, vice-principals, and educators from Mormugao taluka. The event celebrated the visionary leaders whose dedication and commitment to education have shaped institutions, inspired teachers, and nurtured young minds.

The ceremony, held at the Principal M. S. Kamat Seminar Hall, began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by dignitaries, symbolising knowledge and enlightenment. Prof. Manasvi M. Kamat, Principal of MES Vasant Joshi College, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the college’s achievements in teaching, research, and community engagement.

The Chief Guest, Shri. Zingade, and the President of the function, Ms. Lalitha Joshi, were felicitated with potted plants as a token of respect. The highlight of the evening was the felicitation of 11 distinguished educators, including Ms. Anupama Mehra, Principal of Navy Children School, and Dr. Sandhya Venkatesh, Principal of Mount Litera Zee School, who shared heartfelt reflections on their educational journeys.

In his address, Chief Guest Shri. Zingade commended the relentless efforts of educators in shaping future generations and highlighted the importance of schools in moulding individuals. St. Xavier’s College Inaugurates 63rd Academic Year with Ceremony of Hope, Wisdom & Cultural Brilliance


Mapusa, Goa | July 12, 2025 – St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, Goa, formally commenced its 63rd academic year 2025–26 with an Inaugural Ceremony anchored in faith, reflection, and celebration. Held at the college Ark, the programme was themed “With Hope and Wisdom, We Journey to Excellence.”

The ceremony began with a Eucharistic Celebration at 9:30 a.m., led by His Eminence Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão, Archbishop of Goa and Daman. Also present were Rev. Fr. Antonio Salema (Administrator), Fr. Joism D’Souza, Acting Principal Ms. Ursula Barretto, and Vice-Principal Prof. Filipe Rodrigues e Melo, who joined the Cardinal in lighting the ceremonial lamp.

In his welcome address, Fr. Salema echoed the words of Pope Francis, urging students and faculty to walk the year ahead with resilience, gratitude, and hope. Acting Principal Ms. Barretto outlined the institution’s academic and co-curricular milestones, thanked staff for their dedication, and paid tribute to retiring educators.

A key academic highlight was the Lectio Brevis by Prof. Afonso Botelho, titled “Exploring Goan Behaviour in Everyday Life through the Dramatic Lens of Erving Goffman.” The session provided valuable sociological insights into Goan identity and interaction.

Three major college publications were launched during the event:

  • The Halcyon – edited by Ms. Sunita Mesquita
  • The Xavierwrite (e-edition) – launched by Ms. Freda Tavares
  • Spectrum (digital edition) – introduced by Mr. Zen Lobo

The college honoured its retiring staff members – Ms. Alice D’Cruz, Ms. Anuradha Kakodkar, and Mr. Suresh Parsekar – for their invaluable service spanning decades.

In his keynote, Cardinal Ferrão spoke on the value of gratitude, calling it the foundation for humility, wisdom, and lifelong learning.

29th July 2025 | Morpirla, Goa: In a momentous celebration of India’s educational transformation, PM SHRI GHS Morpirla was officially dedicated to the Nation by Hon’ble Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan. The event marked five impactful years of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a landmark reform reshaping the Indian education system.

Held with great enthusiasm and community participation, the event featured esteemed dignitaries, including Chief Guest Shri Subhash Faldessai, Hon’ble Minister of Social Welfare, River Navigation, Archives and Archeology, and Guest of Honour Madam Silviya Fernandes, Deputy Director of Education. The ceremony also welcomed Sir Arun Velguenkar, State Coordinator PM SHRI Schools, along with Ashwini Gaonkar, Sarpanch of V.P. Morpirla, and Prakash Velip, Deputy Sarpanch.
