Francisco Monte Cruz (21st March 1945 – 27th August 2024), the man behind the rapid construction of Goa’s iconic Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, is being honoured by the Government of Goa with a dedicated stadium stand. Built in just 180 days and inaugurated in January 1989, the stadium has since become a major sporting venue. On his first death anniversary, his contribution is commemorated with this fitting tribute under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant.
