Goa Women’s Team Clinches Bronze at 2nd Senior T10 Tennis Ball Cricket Championship in Odisha


The Goa Women’s Cricket Team has made the state proud by securing the bronze medal at the 2nd Senior T10 Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, which took place in Jagannath Puri, Odisha.

The tournament brought together talented teams from across the country, with Goa displaying resilience, teamwork, and consistency to finish on the podium.

The closing ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including Abhishek Singh (General Secretary, T10 TBCAI), Nitesh Shinde (Treasurer, T10 TBCAI), and Dayesh Vengurlekar (T10 TBCAG). Coach Sharmila Bandodkar, along with supporters Chandan Dongrekar and Ramdas Varak, played a crucial role in guiding and encouraging the team throughout their campaign.

This achievement highlights the growing recognition of women’s cricket in Goa and reinforces the importance of promoting female participation in sports. The team’s bronze medal win is expected to inspire young girls across the state to take up cricket and pursue excellence in the game.

Pravara Bakhale & Saideep Naik Named Best Players at Borim Badminton Tournament 2025

Borim witnessed a celebration of youthful talent and competitive spirit as the Third Annual Swatantryasenani Jairam Vasudev Borkar All Borim High School Badminton Tournament concluded successfully on September 14. Organized by the Borim Development Trust and Swami Vivekanand Vidyaprasarak Mandal, the event was hosted at the Multipurpose Hall of Swami Vivekanand High School and spanned three action-packed days from September 12 to 14.

Young athletes from Swami Vivekanand High School, Pragati Vidyalaya, and Panchasheel English High School participated with enthusiasm in various categories, including Under-14 and Under-17 boys’ and girls’ singles and doubles.

Among the many outstanding performances, Pravara Bakhale and Saideep Naik stood out and were awarded Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Tournament, respectively. Their consistent skill, dedication, and court presence earned praise from organizers and spectators alike.

The tournament’s Guest of Honour, Chetan Magdum—Goa’s top U-19 badminton player, state player, and coach—presented trophies to all winners and runners-up. The event also saw the support of sponsors Udai Borkar and Kedar Borkar, who continue to promote grassroots sports initiatives in the region.

The tournament was smoothly conducted by Ashu Korde, PE teacher at Swami Vivekanand College, ensuring fairness and organization throughout.

The prize distribution ceremony marked a fitting close to the event, celebrating the achievements of young talents and the spirit of community sports in Borim. This tournament once again reinforced the town’s growing reputation as a nurturing ground for emerging sporting talent.

Goa’s Amaira Dhumatker Wins Triple Crown at Black Feather Open Junior Championship 2025


Goa’s young badminton sensation Amaira Dhumatker showcased her extraordinary skills at the Black Feather Open Junior Championship, held on September 7, 2025, at MACHAXI Pragathi, Horamavu, Karnataka.

Amaira delivered a stellar performance to clinch three gold medals in:

  • Under-9 girls’ singles
  • Under-11 girls’ singles
  • Under-13 girls’ singles

She defeated top-seeded players from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, proving her dominance across categories and underlining her versatility as a shuttler.

ACS Goa’s Young Kickboxers Shine at WAKO National Championship 2025 – Chennai


ACS Goa proudly represented the state of Goa at the prestigious WAKO National Kickboxing Championship 2025, held in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, from August 27 to 31. The event saw over 1500 athletes from across India compete at the highest national level. Despite having only 15 days of preparation, ACS Goa’s young athletes stepped onto the national stage with determination, focus, and unwavering spirit.

Making history for the academy, Erica J. de Sequeira (Older Cadets – -50kg) clinched a bronze medal in Kick Light (Full Contact Sparring), becoming the first-ever ACS Goa athlete to win a national kickboxing medal. Her performance was not just limited to one category—Erica also competed fiercely in Point Fight and Musical Forms, showcasing her versatility, technical skill, and passion for the sport.

Giovanna L. de Sequeira (Younger Cadets – 32kg) entered the national arena in Point Fight Sparring, bravely facing off in a highly competitive category that featured 23 talented young fighters. Though she didn’t medal, her courage and composure were evident as she gained vital national-level experience that will shape her future performances.

Another promising athlete, Veda Chandan Priolker (Children – 30kg), showed great promise in Point Fight Sparring. Her strong fundamentals, quick adaptability, and fighting spirit marked her as a young martial artist to watch in the coming years.

These athletes were led by Coach Raunak Singh, who served as Goa’s official representative at the championship. His leadership, combined with the dedication of the young fighters, resulted in a proud milestone not just for ACS Goa, but for the broader martial arts community in the state. This achievement marks a significant step forward for kickboxing in Goa, inspiring a new generation to train hard and aim high.

Goa’s motorsport scene witnessed a historic milestone as Aditya Samant from Kopardem, Sattari, became the first-ever scooter rider to secure a podium finish at the prestigious Dakshin Dare Rally 2025.

Held from 28–31 August in Bengaluru, Dakshin Dare is recognized as South India’s biggest cross-country rally, testing riders across extreme terrains with distances exceeding 2000 km.

A First for Scooters in Indian Motorsport

Competing on a race-tuned Aprilia scooter, Samant broke new ground in the motorsport fraternity by not just finishing the grueling rally but also standing on the podium in the newly introduced scooter class category.

His feat demonstrates not only his resilience and skill but also the growing popularity and acceptance of scooter-based racing in India.
