In a proud moment for Goa’s academic landscape, Goa University has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chanakya Mandal Pariwar, a pioneering institution established in 1996 known for its excellence in competitive exam training, leadership development, and public service preparation.

This historic agreement marks the first collaboration of its kind in Goa, opening doors to specialized programs, workshops, and research opportunities for students and faculty. Through this partnership, Goa University aims to equip its students with skills that go beyond conventional academics — nurturing leadership, analytical thinking, and a deeper understanding of governance and administration.

Chanakya Mandal Pariwar, with its decades of expertise, will bring valuable mentorship, training modules, and a wealth of knowledge to Goa University’s ecosystem. This collaboration also reflects Goa University’s commitment to building national and global competencies among its students.

Sacred Heart High School, Parra Shines with Double Gold at State Judo Championship

It’s a moment of immense pride for Sacred Heart High School, Parra, as two of its talented students have emerged victorious at the Goa State Judo Championship, organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Goa.

Narayan Chanappa Khandpanavar showcased outstanding skill and determination to secure 1st place in the U-17 Boys’ category, while Sameeksha Santosh Nandahali delivered a stellar performance to win 1st place in the U-14 Girls’ category.

The championship brought together some of Goa’s best young judo athletes, and both Narayan and Sameeksha stood out for their agility, discipline, and competitive spirit. Their victories are a testament to the hard work they’ve put in under the guidance of their coaches and the support from their school.

The achievements have brought immense joy and pride to the Sacred Heart High School community. These wins not only highlight the talent of the students but also underscore the importance of nurturing sports at the grassroots level in Goa.

Panaji Declared Cleanest City in India (50k–1L Category) at Swachh Survekshan 2024–25

In a landmark moment for Goa, the city of Panaji has been honoured as the Cleanest City in India in the 50,000–1,00,000 population category at the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024–25. The awards ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, and the title was conferred by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji.

This prestigious award underscores the outstanding work done under the Swachh Bharat Mission in Panaji, including consistent efforts in door-to-door waste collection, scientific waste treatment, and attaining Garbage-Free City certification.

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant expressed pride in Panaji’s achievement, stating it is a reflection of the government’s long-standing commitment to sustainable urban development. He congratulated all the officials, teams, and residents who made it possible.

Mayor Rohit Monserrate also shared his gratitude and reiterated the importance of citizen participation, enforcement of waste segregation, and the future goal of making Panaji a zero-waste city.
