Amazon has announced a bold plan to bring AI to millions of Indians by 2030, supporting the Government of India’s AI Mission. With a $12.7B investment in cloud and AI infrastructure, the company aims to empower 15 million small businesses, enhance AI literacy for 4 million government-school students, and deliver more intuitive, accessible AI-powered shopping experiences for hundreds of millions across the country.
As part of the Fomento Lecture Series, Aruna Chakkirala, Lead AI Cloud Solutions Architect at Microsoft and Goa University alumna, delivered an engaging talk on "Business Impact of AI and Building Meaningful GenAI Use Cases" at Goa Business School. Drawing from over two decades of experience, she discussed the opportunities and uncertainties of AI's evolution, while stressing the need for responsible innovation and student readiness in the GenAI space.
