Karnataka Tells Goa It Will Take Elephant Omkar Only After Dussehra

The forest department is failing to control the wild elephant, Omkar, that has been destroying fields in Tambos in Pernem for three consecutive days. Goa forest minister Vishwajit Rane said discussions with Karnataka have resulted in a plan to relocate Omkar to a Karnataka elephant camp—but only after Dussehra. The ministers also agreed on a tripartite plan involving Maharashtra to address human-elephant conflict regionally.
