B.Sc. Nursing Students Gain Exposure at Indian Red Cross Society Goa

A group of 59 B.Sc. Nursing students, accompanied by two faculty members from the Nursing Institute, Bambolim, visited the State Headquarters of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Goa, in Panaji as part of an educational exposure programme.


The students were addressed by Gaurish Dhond, Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society, Goa, who highlighted the core values of the Red Cross movement. He encouraged the students, as future healthcare professionals, to uphold principles of selfless service, compassion and dedication to duty. Dhond also provided an overview of the wide-ranging humanitarian activities undertaken by the Society, including disaster response, blood services and community welfare initiatives across the state.

Earlier, the General Secretary of the Society, John Aguiar, welcomed the students and faculty members. The visit included documentary films and presentations that offered a comprehensive understanding of the Red Cross’s global mission as well as its local operations and emergency response efforts.

The exposure visit aimed to sensitize nursing students to the importance of voluntary humanitarian work and inspire them to actively engage in community-based healthcare and social service initiatives in the future.

VVM’s Vidya Vikas Academy Students Explore Aguad Port & Jail Complex


Margao / North Goa – Class X students of VVM’s Vidya Vikas Academy, Margao, recently undertook an educational visit to the historic Aguad Port & Jail Complex in North Goa, offering them a deeper understanding of Goa’s rich heritage beyond classroom learning.

The visit included a guided tour of the Aguad Jail Complex and the Aguad Interactive Museum – Goa: The Land, The Struggle, The People. Through preserved exhibits, historical artefacts and detailed displays, students were introduced to Goa’s freedom fighters, their sacrifices and the broader liberation movement.

A key highlight of the visit was the museum’s innovative use of multimedia presentations, which brought Goa’s history to life in an engaging and accessible manner. The interactive installations helped students connect historical events with real-life narratives, making the learning experience both informative and enjoyable.

The educational field trip enabled students to appreciate Goa’s legacy in a unique way, fostering curiosity, awareness and respect for the state’s cultural and historical journey.

Lokmanya Tilak Vidyalaya Students Witness Democracy in Action at Goa Assembly

In a remarkable example of experiential learning, Class 10 students of Lokmanya Tilak Vidyalaya, Kavale, visited the Goa Vidhan Sabha where they witnessed a live Assembly session, offering them a rare and valuable glimpse into the democratic process of the state.

The educational visit was guided by dedicated faculty members—Girish Sir, Smita Teacher, and Vaibhavi Teacher—who ensured that students understood the context and significance of the legislative proceedings. The visit was further enriched by the presence of Honorable Power Minister Mr. Ramkrishna Dhavalikar, who accompanied the students, making the experience more impactful and memorable.

During the session, students observed the structured conduct of the House, debates, and discussions around state policies and bills. This opportunity helped them understand how laws are framed, the roles of elected representatives, and the importance of civic participation.

Such visits are an essential part of nurturing informed, aware, and responsible citizens. By engaging directly with governance and legislative environments, students develop an appreciation for the democratic machinery that governs their lives.
