As Goa celebrates Children’s Day, the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (DITE&C) is championing initiatives that equip children with digital skills, access to technology, and platforms for innovation. From free laptop distribution and IT Knowledge Centres to startup support and AI education, DITE&C is shaping a future where every Goan child becomes a creator of technology, not just a user.
In a major step towards digital empowerment and inclusive education, 232 meritorious students from SC and ST communities in Goa were awarded laptops under the Free Laptop Distribution Scheme by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C), Government of Goa, for academic years 2023–24 and 2024–25.
Goa has introduced the Mahila Digital Sashaktikaran Yojana to equip women—especially in rural and underserved areas—with essential digital skills. Launched by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and Minister for ITE&C Rohan Khaunte, the scheme is a major step toward bridging the digital divide and promoting women-led development in the state.
