Sattariโ€™s very own Miss Griha Mahanand Paryekar, daughter of Shri Mahanand Paryekar (RFO) and Adv. Smt. Sharmila Paryekar from Honda, has achieved national recognition by securing the Second Prize in the National Level Bharatnatyam Solo Dance Competition (Senior Category) at the Goa Cultural Carnival Season 2.

The prestigious event, organized by Nritharchana in association with the All India Dancers Association, brought together talented dancers from across the country to celebrate the beauty of Indian classical dance. Amidst fierce competition, Grihaโ€™s performance stood out for its grace, precision, and expressive storytellingโ€”hallmarks of the Bharatnatyam tradition.

Her achievement is a testament to her dedication, passion, and years of disciplined training. Beyond the stage, this milestone also highlights the growing cultural prominence of Sattari and the rich artistic spirit thriving in Goaโ€™s heartland.

Cinemania: Phase Four at Don Bosco College โ€“ A Two-Day Celebration of Creativity and Cinema


Don Bosco Collegeโ€™s Department of Mass Communication & Journalism, in collaboration with its Film Club Cinemaniacs, hosted the 4th edition of Cinemania on 9th and 10th October 2025. The two-day event combined interdepartmental and intercollegiate competitions, showcasing the creativity, talent, and cinematic passion of students across Goa.

Day One kicked off with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Mr. Sachin Chatte, veteran film critic, alongside College Director Rev. Fr. Kinley Dโ€™Cruz, Principal Dr. Cedric Silveira, and Faculty In-Charge Asst. Prof. Agnelo Dโ€™Souza. Departments competed in events such as Lord of the Frames, What If?, Genres of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Any Dept Can Dance 2, with Team I.T. retaining the overall champion title.

Day Two welcomed ten colleges from across Goa for the intercollegiate edition. The red-carpet inauguration featured award-winning filmmaker Mr. Christ Silva as Chief Guest, who inspired students to tell culturally rooted stories. Students represented iconic film directors and competed in events like Action Replayy, MisMatched 3.0, Flopbuster, and Absolute Cinema, a five-hour filmmaking challenge. The dance competitions, including Letโ€™s Nach-O!, brought energy and creativity to the stage.

Competing in the above-19 age category, Spoorti stood out among a diverse field of international talent to bring home top honors in the classical dance category.

A dedicated student of renowned dance guru Varada Bedekar, Spoorti has trained rigorously over the years in classical Indian dance and continues to represent Goaโ€™s vibrant cultural identity on global platforms. PM SHRI GHS Morpirla Excels at Quepem Taluka Level Republic Day Celebration


January 26th, 2023, was a day of pride and celebration for the students and staff of PM SHRI GHS Morpirla as they showcased their talents and achievements at the Quepem taluka level Republic Day celebration.

Top Honors for March Past, Swachh School, and Dance
The school’s marching contingent won first prize for their impressive March Past performance, demonstrating their discipline, teamwork, and synchronization. Additionally, PM SHRI GHS Morpirla was awarded first prize for the Swachh School competition, recognizing their commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

The school’s dance troupe also impressed the judges, securing third prize for their energetic and well-choreographed performance.

Dignitaries Attend the Event
The Quepem taluka level Republic Day celebration was attended by several dignitaries, including Honorable Minister for Power, Mr. Sudin Dhavalikar, who was the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Dy Collector Quepem, Shri Manohar Karekar, Nathan L Afonso, Mamlatdar of Quepem, and Surendra Gaonkar, joint Mamlatdar Quepem.

Headmistress Congratulates Students and Staff
Headmistress Maria Murena Miranda, who was in Delhi attending the Republic Day celebrations, congratulated the students and staff on their achievements. She emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy school environment, stating, “Swachh School is important because it helps children learn and stay healthy, prevents the spread of disease, and promotes healthy habits.”
