Central Strikers, Omtex Western Lions, Western United, and Crickokers Clinch Victories at Crickokers 50 Plus Cricket Bash


Margao: The Crickokers 50 Plus Cricket Bash, hosted by Crickokers Hospitality Goa, witnessed thrilling action across various grounds in Goa on Saturday. Teams from across the country competed in morning and afternoon sessions, delivering impressive performances in this veteran cricket tournament.

At the Chicalim Ground, Western United edged past Rising Stars Veterans New Delhi by 5 wickets. Chasing a target of 152, Western United reached 153/5 in 18.5 overs, powered by a solid 50 from Rakesh Bedse and a composed 33 by Manoj Oza. Earlier, Rising Stars had posted 151/7 with Vishwajeet Nayak scoring a gritty 51.

Meanwhile, at the Arlem Ground, Omtex Western Lions Mumbai emerged victorious against Spring Falcons Rest of India by 6 wickets. Spring Falcons posted 156/9, with Rajesh Gill anchoring the innings with 51 runs. In response, Makarand Kulkarni (49) and Sarang Degwekar (not out 44) ensured a comfortable chase for the Mumbai side.

Over at MCC Ground, Margao, Central Strikers Indore dominated Dharwad Cricket Academy, sealing a massive 158-run win. Central Strikers piled on a challenging 218/6, thanks to half-centuries from Sandeep Mehrotra and Manoj Kandhari. In reply, Dharwad was bundled out for 60, with Mehrotra also shining with the ball, picking up 2 wickets for just 7 runs.

In the afternoon session at the same venue, hosts Crickokers Hospitality Goa secured a convincing 6-wicket win over Palakkad Veterans Kerala. Palakkad put up 134/8, with Siddu Pujari scoring a valiant 51. The Goa side chased it down in 17.2 overs, led by Vinay Sambari (45) and Anup Kudchadkar (37), with Mahesh Kudchadkar staying unbeaten on 21.

Crickokers 50 Plus Cricket Tournament Kicks Off in Style


Margao: The second edition of the Crickokers 50 Plus Cricket Bash was officially inaugurated on Friday at the MCC Ground in Margao. The opening ceremony featured Bonny Pereira, owner of Martinโ€™s Corner, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Satish Kudchadkar graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries present on the dais included Yogesh Naik, President of Margao Cricket Club; MCC member and councillor Sagun Dada Naik; along with Prayan Dhamaskar and Amar Devidas.

Raghuvir Kunkolienkar, Head of Crickokers Hospitality, welcomed the gathering, and Anup Borkar delivered the vote of thanks.

Four matches were played on the opening day of the tournament. At the Chicalim Ground, Central Strikers Indore defeated Palakkad Veterans Kerala by 9 wickets. At MCC Margao, Rising Stars Veterans New Delhi edged past Omtex Western Lion Mumbai by 2 wickets in the morning match. In the afternoon session at the same venue, Spring Falcons โ€“ Rest of India beat Western United by 47 runs. At Arlem Ground, Crickokers Hospitality Goa clinched a 3-wicket win over Dharwad Cricket Academy.

The tournament promises to deliver thrilling encounters in the coming days, celebrating the passion and spirit of cricket among players aged 50 and above.
