Margao: Madgaon Royals registered a comprehensive 59-run victory over Canacona Mathagram United in the Alcon GSB Unity Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, organized by the Goa GSB Sports & Charitable Trust in collaboration with the Goa Saraswat Samaj at the MCC ground in Margao.

Batting first after losing the toss, Madgaon Royals posted a strong total of 179/7 in 20 overs. Arsh Sardesai (40 off 23 balls), Sanat Prabhudesai (38 off 24), and Aditya Dalal (35 off 21) powered their innings with crucial contributions. Pranav Kamat (2/10) and Vrushab Kuncolienkar (2/32) were the pick of the bowlers for Canacona Mathagram United.

In response, Canacona Mathagram United fell short, getting bowled out for 120 in 15.1 overs. Their top scorers were Amey Rajadhyax (30 off 26), Viraj Puranik (24 off 12), and Sumiran Amonkar (19 off 11). However, the Madgaon Royals’ bowling attack, led by captain Vikram Gaitonde (3/22) and Aditya Dalal (2/23), ensured a comfortable win for their side.

For his stellar all-round performance, Aditya Dalal was adjudged Man of the Match.

Margao: The Alcon GSB Unity Cup T-20 Tournament, organized by Goa GSB Sports & Charitable Trust in association with the Goa Saraswat Samaj, witnessed commanding victories by Canacona Mathagram United and Priority Titans on Saturday at the MCC Ground, Margao.

In a one-sided contest, Canacona Mathagram United secured a dominant 8-wicket victory over Rising Stars of Antruz. After restricting Rising Stars to 115 all out in 19.4 overs, United chased down the target in just 10.5 overs, finishing at 119/2. Viraj Puranik, who scored 40 runs and picked up 3 wickets for 17 runs, was named Man of the Match. This win marked United’s third victory in four matches.

In another thrilling clash, Priority Titans posted a mammoth 223/6 in 20 overs before bowling out Laziz CQS for 123 in 17.3 overs, sealing a comprehensive 100-run win. Leg-spinner Manish Kakode was the standout performer, claiming 5 wickets for 25 runs, earning him the Man of the Match title. With four wins in five matches, the Titans further strengthened their net run rate in the tournament.

Laziz CQS and CD Margao Mega Strikers registered hard-fought victories in their respective matches.

In the first match, Laziz CQS edged past Madgaon Royals by two wickets in a last-ball thriller. Chasing a challenging target of 154, Laziz CQS found themselves in trouble at 105/7, but a stellar knock from Sarvesh Prabhugaonkar (35* off 15 balls) and a crucial contribution from Rauji Kakodkar (34 off 21 balls) steered them to victory. Earlier, Madgaon Royals had posted 153/5, with Sanat Prabhudessai (40), Damodar Pai Patnekar (36), and Sahish Mahambrey (35 off 20) leading the charge.
