JCI Vasco Organises Blood Donation Camp at St. Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim

A Blood Donation Camp was organised by JCI Vasco in collaboration with GMC Blood Bank, St. Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim, the Red Ribbon Club, and the Microbiology Faculty on 5th February 2026 at the college premises. The initiative aimed to create awareness about voluntary blood donation and encourage students and staff to actively contribute towards saving lives.

The camp received an encouraging response, with 31 donors registering for the initiative. After medical screening, 20 units of blood were successfully collected, reinforcing the impact of community participation in addressing critical healthcare needs.

With the dedicated support of the organising team, medical professionals from GMC Blood Bank, faculty members, and student volunteers, the event was conducted smoothly and efficiently. Beyond blood collection, the camp also served as an awareness drive, highlighting how a small act of donation can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

The initiative reflected JCI Vasco’s continued commitment to social responsibility and community welfare, inspiring young individuals to step forward and participate in life-saving causes.

Traffic Advisory: IRONMAN 70.3 Goa, India 2025 – Road Closures and Diversions

The Goa Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory for the IRONMAN 70.3 Goa 2025, which will take place on Sunday, 9th November 2025, from 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM. To ensure the smooth and safe conduct of this international sporting event, several major roads across Panaji, Miramar, Ribandar, Cortalim, and NH66 will be closed or restricted to vehicular movement.

The entire race route will remain closed for vehicles from 3:00 AM until the race concludes. Key closures include Ribandar Causeway from Ribandar Patti to Divja Circle, the Riverside lane of D.B. Marg from Divja Circle to Miramar Circle, Miramar Beachside lane on Dr. Jack Sequeira Road from Miramar Circle to NIO Circle, and dedicated lanes along NH66 from Merces Circle to New Zuari Bridge. Two-way traffic will be allowed on specific lanes of NH66 and D.B. Marg to facilitate alternate movement.

In the Cortalim area, a single lane of the new NH66 flyover will be temporarily closed from 3:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with diversions in place for traffic between Panaji and Margao. Heavy vehicles and route buses from Titan Junction will also be diverted until the event concludes. Dedicated car lanes will be available for local residents along D.B. Marg with alternate entry and exit options through Marriott Lane and La Campala internal roads.

Several diversion plans are in effect to help motorists navigate around the affected areas. For example, vehicles traveling from Old Goa–Ribandar to Panaji will be redirected via Chimbel Junction, Merces Junction, and Atal Setu, while traffic from Panaji to Ribandar will be diverted via Divja Circle and Merces. Two-way traffic arrangements are allowed at certain points on D.B. Marg and LHS lanes along NH66 to facilitate smooth movement.

The IRONKIDS event on Saturday, 8th November 2025, will also see temporary lane closures on the Miramar Beachside lanes, with two-way movement allowed in designated stretches.

Motorists are strongly advised to follow traffic signage, respect no parking and no stopping rules along race routes, and avoid unnecessary travel through affected areas. Emergency vehicles will have unobstructed access throughout the event. Observing these traffic regulations will ensure safety for both participants and residents during the event.
