On 12th January 2026, Smt. Sunandabai Bandodkar High School, Salvador-do-Mundo, hosted a deeply moving Samarpan event that beautifully reflected the spirit of giving, empathy and community service. The initiative brought students together with a shared purpose โ€” to support Samvedana Ashram, Parra, Bardez, Goa, run by Jeevan Anand Sansthan.

The event opened with inspiring speeches by students Miss Varsha Kanse and Mast. Sahil Gawade, whose thoughtful words highlighted the importance of kindness and responsibility towards society. Adding further depth to the occasion, Tr. Saunlo Uscaikar addressed the students, motivating them to embrace compassion as a way of life and reminding them that service to humanity is a powerful form of education.

A soulful song on Swami Vivekanand, presented by the students, filled the atmosphere with positivity and inspiration, reinforcing the message of selfless service and inner strength. The highlight of the event was the generous contribution made by students from Classes 5 to 10 and the primary section, who donated essential items including wheat flour, biscuits, rice, soaps, toothpaste, pulses and potatoes. Adding to the generosity, a well-wisher of the school, Shri Ramesh Tiwari, also contributed items to support the ashram. A successful Cleanliness Drive was conducted today at Vidya Prabodhini, drawing over 500 participants including students, staff, volunteers, and members of the community. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about hygiene, environmental responsibility, and the importance of maintaining clean surroundings, reflecting a shared commitment to public service and social responsibility.

The programme commenced with motivating words from Chief Guest Maโ€™am Prashanti Talpankar, whose presence inspired attendees to actively contribute to the cause. The organisers expressed heartfelt gratitude to Vidya Prabodhini College for providing the venue, support, and enthusiastic participation of students and faculty, ensuring the smooth execution of the event.

An impactful performance by Mr. Saish Deshpandey and the Drama Group creatively highlighted the message of cleanliness and civic duty, leaving a lasting impression on participants. The session began at 1:00 PM with a warm welcome by Headmaster Shreedhar Naik, who greeted the resource person Gabriel Pereira and invited guests. In his address, he highlighted the schoolโ€™s dedication to nurturing responsible citizens through meaningful social awareness engagements.

MJF Lion Goculdas Nagvenkar followed with an insightful introduction to the Lions Club of Mapuca, outlining the clubโ€™s extensive community initiatives, including health campaigns, environmental programs, and youth outreach. He emphasized the importance of collaborating with organizations like the MOHAN Foundation that champion critical causes such as organ donation.

The highlight of the event was the expert-led session by Gabriel Pereira, who explained the concept of brain death, its medical relevance, and the transformative power of organ donation. Free Health Camp in Piligao Benefits Over 100 Villagers


In a remarkable initiative to bring healthcare closer to the community, JCI Pilgao Elite and Village Panchayat Piligao, in collaboration with Lokmanya Multipurpose Co-operative Bank, organized a Free Health Camp for the residents of Piligao. The event was strongly supported by Goa Diagnostic Service and Matoshri Sevadhaam Arogya Seva Trust, Mumbai.

The camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 100 villagers availing free health services, particularly eye check-ups and medical consultations. The initiative aimed at not only providing immediate healthcare support but also spreading awareness about the importance of regular check-ups for long-term wellbeing.
