JCI Panaji Hosts Life-Saving Mega Blood Donation Camp

On May 11, 2025, JCI Panaji, in collaboration with On Call Rakthdate Saunatha and Sarthak Foundation, successfully organized a Mega Blood Donation Camp at Kazi Shahabuddin Hall, Sawantwadi. The event saw an overwhelming response, with over 150 donors participating in this noble cause.

The camp was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including Dayanand Gawas, Ex-Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sindhudurg; Ashwini Patil, Chief Officer, Sawantwadi Municipality; Lakham Bhosle, Yuvraj Sawantwadi; Madhuri Mulik, PSI Sawantwadi; and Mahesh Remulkar, Executive Chairman, On Call Rakthdate Saunatha. Their presence highlighted the importance of community service and blood donation.

The Mega Blood Donation Camp received tremendous support from the people of Sawantwadi and Goa, showcasing the community’s spirit of giving and humanitarianism. This selfless act of kindness will undoubtedly make a significant difference in the lives of many, demonstrating the power of collective effort in creating a positive impact.

JCI Panaji’s commitment to serving the community is truly commendable. JCI Farmagudi Organizes Free Health and Eye Checkup Camp


JCI Farmagudi, in collaboration with Primary Health Center (PHC) Ponda and Lawrence & Mayo, successfully organized a free health and eye checkup camp on Wednesday, April 16, 2024. The camp was held at Government High School Juna Bazar, Durgabhat, Ponda, and provided a range of services to the local community.


The camp offered a comprehensive range of health services, including:

  • Eye checkup
  • ABHA registration
  • BP checkup
  • General OPD
  • Ayurvedic OPD
  • Homeopathic OPD
  • Dental OPD
  • LAB tests (RBSL, Hemoglobin)
  • Ophthalmology OPD
  • Breast scan and Pap smear (for women)


The camp benefited 68 individuals, including parents, students, locals, teachers, and staff of Government High School. The event aimed to create awareness about regular health checkups and provide access to essential healthcare services.


JCI Farmagudi would like to express gratitude to the Headmistress of Government High School Juna Bazar, Mrs. Suvidha Desai, and the staff of Primary Health Center Ponda and Lawrence & Mayo for their support in making this program a success.

Imperial Multi-Speciality Hospital, Margao and Rotary Club of Margao Sunrise Join Hands for Liver Health Camp


In a bid to promote community well-being, Imperial Multi-Speciality Hospital collaborated with the Rotary Club of Margao Sunrise to organize a Liver Health Camp on March 12th. The camp aimed to raise awareness about liver health and provide complimentary screenings, witnessing an overwhelming response with 65 patients benefiting from the initiative.

The camp featured a team of expert medical professionals, led by Dr. Milind Desai, who provided their expertise and support to ensure the success of the initiative. The hospital’s state-of-the-art facilities and advanced medical technology, including the FibroScan machine, enabled the team to conduct non-invasive liver stiffness assessments.

“Recently, the government of India’s Ministry of Health started a campaign for an obesity-free India. In line with this, Imperial Hospital, Margao, organized a Liver Assessment Camp to diagnose and manage fatty liver, which is a sign of obesity and its related complications,” stated Dr. Milind Desai, MD of Imperial Hospital Margao.

Representing the Rotary Club of Margao Sunrise at the camp were Rtn. Sharon Dias, Club President; Rtn. Connie D’Cruz, Community Service Director; Rtn. Joana Dias, TRF Chair; and Rtn. Charmaine Rodrigues. The club’s participation underscored its commitment to community service and its dedication to supporting initiatives that promote health and well-being.

The Liver Health Camp was a resounding success, with a total of 75 people attending the event, including 65 patients and 10 staff members. The initiative not only provided complimentary screenings but also raised awareness about the importance of liver health and the need for regular check-ups.

Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera Empowers Children with Disabilities


In a remarkable display of community service and dedication, the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera has inaugurated a state-of-the-art infrastructure and Early Intervention Centre at Aastha’s Anand Niketan, a school for children with disabilities in Goa.

This ambitious project was made possible through a Global Grant of $99,000 (Rs. 82,00,000) secured by the Rotary Club in partnership with International Rotary Clubs and The Rotary Foundation. Additionally, the club has partnered with Golden Peace Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. to establish an Early Intervention Centre through Rotary India Foundation, valued at $40,000 (Rs. 35,00,000).

The newly inaugurated infrastructure includes personalized, disability-friendly classroom furniture, smart digital boards, wheelchairs, and state-of-the-art A/V equipment. This modern setup will significantly enhance the learning experience for over 200 special children and provide advanced training to special educators and parents.

The Rotary Club’s initiative aims to create a supportive and inclusive environment that empowers children with disabilities to reach their full potential. By providing access to cutting-edge technology and specialized resources, the club is bridging the gap in education and healthcare for these children.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including Rtn. Sharad Pai, District Governor RID 3170, PDG Rtn. Alka Khanolkar, and Mr. Rahul Khetrapal, CSR Partner. The event was a testament to the power of community service and collaboration.

“We are thrilled to have partnered with Aastha’s Anand Niketan to create a world-class infrastructure for children with disabilities,” said President Rtn. Tanvi Attreya Sawant. “Through this grant, we are not only improving infrastructure but also building a brighter future for these children, a future where their potential is recognized, nurtured, and allowed to flourish.”

AAP President Amit Palekar Offers Puja at Newly Built Ganesh Temple in St. Cruz


Amit Palekar, President of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), recently performed puja at the newly built Shree Vishwaraj Ganesh Mandir in St. Cruz, Goa. The AAP leader was accompanied by his family as they offered prayers at the temple.


After the puja, Palekar took to Twitter to express his gratitude for the divine experience. In his tweet, he wrote, “Feeling truly blessed to have had the opportunity to perform puja with my family at the newly built Ganesh Temple, Shree Vishwaraj Ganesh Mandir, in St. Cruz. May Lord Ganesha bless everyone with wisdom, prosperity, and happiness. Grateful for this divine experience!”
