Goa Tunes In to HamFest India 2025


A global celebration of communication, innovation, and community spirit

Ponda, October 13, 2025: Riding a wave of innovation and connectivity, HamFest India 2025 took place on October 11โ€“12 at the Goa College of Engineering (GEC), Farmagudi, uniting radio enthusiasts, technology innovators, and experts from across the globe.

Organised by the Goa Radio Amateur Society (GRAS) in association with Goa College of Engineering and supported by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (DITE&C), Government of Goa, the event marked the 32nd edition of HamFest India โ€” and Goaโ€™s first time hosting it.

More than 700 delegates from India and abroad attended the event, including representatives from Royal Omani Amateur Radio Society, AMSAT-India, and Upagrah Amateur Radio Club.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Rohan Khaunte, Honโ€™ble Minister of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, along with Group Captain & Astronaut Subhanshu Shukla (VU2TNI), Shri Nitin Raiker, Dr. M.S. Krupashankara (Principal, GEC), and Shri Sandesh Bhat (VU22DX), Convenor of HamFest India Goa.

In his inaugural address, Minister Rohan Khaunte stated,

โ€œThis yearโ€™s HamFest holds special significance as Goa proudly hosts the 32nd edition for the very first time. Known for its cultural heritage and educational vibrancy, Goa provides the perfect backdrop for an event that beautifully blends technology, learning, and community spirit. The Government of Goa remains committed to supporting such initiatives that promote technical excellence, innovation, and social responsibility.โ€

Across two dynamic days, HamFest India 2025 featured:

  • 40+ technical sessions and 8 live demos on radio technologies and innovation
  • 37 exhibitors showcasing antennas, transceivers, and communication equipment
  • Hands-on workshops exploring the practical applications of amateur radio
  • Interactive discussions with renowned operators involved in disaster response and emergency communications

For the first time ever, Goa became the heart of Indiaโ€™s amateur radio movement โ€” a space where technology met passion, and where the hum of innovation resonated across communities.

As the curtains came down on HamFest India 2025, participants left inspired, connected, and energized โ€” a true reflection of how technology continues to unite people across borders and frequencies.

19th Global Communication Conclave of PRCI Concludes Successfully in Goa


The 19th Global Communication Conclave of the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) concluded with great success in Goa on September 27, 2025. Held over two days at a vibrant venue, the conclave drew eminent personalities from government, business, media, academia, and the creative industries, all united by a shared commitment to shaping the future of communication.

The Honโ€™ble Governor of Goa, Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, inaugurated the conclave, stressing the importance of credibility, authenticity, and ethics in modern communication. He spoke about communicationโ€™s growing influence in governance and business, and its power to build trust and transparency.

Later that evening, the Honโ€™ble Chief Minister of Goa graced the Chanakya Awards function, congratulating participants and underlining how this yearโ€™s themeโ€”โ€œPower of PR: Emerging Waves of Communicationโ€โ€”captures the shift towards digital innovation, purposeful storytelling, and engagement that is real, timely, and impactful. He encouraged all present to raise the bar in ethical communication.

Mr. M B Jayaram, Chairman Emeritus of PRCI, praised the conclaveโ€™s successful execution and the quality of discourse, calling it a milestone for the communication fraternity. National President Ms. Geeta Shankar echoed this sentiment, commending the organizers and highlighting the value of such events in uniting professionals and inspiring progress.

The conclave featured lively panels and talks on topics such as Public Relations and Technology, Political Communication, PR and Leadership, Youth Engagement, and Global Communication Trends. Renowned speakers included corporate leaders, TEDx speakers, and academicians like Professor Mathew Hibberd from Switzerland. Other prominent guests included film producer Pramod Shetty, Rtn. Dr. Srinivasan, and Kaayan Kalthia of KosolEnergie.

The Chanakya Awards recognized top achievers in the field. Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty of Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Ltd. was awarded CEO of the Year (Joint Ventures), while Irfan Rashid of REC Limited received the Jury Special Award for Promising Corporate Communicator of the Year. VSR Naidu was inducted into the PR Hall of Fame, acknowledging his lasting contributions to the field.

Alongside, the PRCI Excellence Awards 2025 drew entries from over 100 leading corporates, celebrating creativity, impact, and innovation in corporate communication. The awards ceremony was honored by Dr. Ganesh Gaonkar, Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly.

A special cultural performance titled “Gomantarang” was showcased by the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, adding a vibrant, traditional touch to the conclaveโ€™s atmosphere.

The conclave’s success was made possible by the efforts of the PRCI Goa Chapter, under the leadership of Chairman Deepak Narvekar and his dedicated team including Waman Prabhu, Gurunath Pai, Nikhil Wagh, Kalika Bapat, Nikita Chodankar, John Agular, Anant Joshi, John Samuel, Raj Britto, Vrundavan Raikar, and Sandeep Kamble. Their tireless work ensured a meaningful and memorable experience for all attendees.

The 19th Global Communication Conclave reaffirmed PRCIโ€™s mission to foster excellence, encourage dialogue, and advance the profession of communication across sectors. It stood as a testament to the collaborative spirit of the industry, and its potential to lead meaningful change in society and business.

The 19th edition of the PRCI Global Communication Conclave was inaugurated in Panaji by Governor Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, alongside Union Minister of State for Power Shri Shripad Naik. The event, themed โ€œPower of PR โ€“ Emerging Waves of Communication,โ€ brought together top minds from the public relations and communication sectors to discuss how the role of PR is expanding in today’s digital-first, rapidly evolving world.

Organized by the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), the two-day conclave aims to foster knowledge-sharing and spotlight emerging trends in communication. Chairman Emeritus MB Jayaram, Goa Chapter Chairman Shri Deepak Narvekar, and several key dignitaries were present to lend their insights and lend weight to the growing importance of strategic communication in governance, business, and public life.

This yearโ€™s conclave was held in association with Rockcity Nidhi, Trichy, and Kosol Energie, Ahmedabadโ€”organizations committed to community engagement and sustainable development. Mirta Lourenรงo, UNESCO Chief of Media Development and Media Emergency, highlights the importance of radio in amplifying marginalized voices. “Engaging communities meaningfully โ€” by incorporating marginalized voices and highlighting practical solutions โ€” can also help broadcasters by shedding light on the human aspect of the climate crises.”
