PM SHRI GHS Morpirla Students Embark on a Journey to Explore Polar Research at NCPOR’s Silver Jubilee Celebration

In a thrilling experience, students from PM SHRI GHS Morpirla recently attended the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research’s (NCPOR) silver jubilee celebration. This momentous occasion marked 25 years of outstanding contributions to polar research, and our students were eager to be a part of it.

Upon arrival, the students were greeted by an impressive exhibition showcasing NCPOR’s research activities in the polar and southern ocean regions. The exhibits provided a comprehensive overview of the organization’s work in Antarctica, highlighting its significance in understanding climate change and its impact on the environment.

A Virtual Journey to Antarctica

One of the exhibition’s main attractions was a virtual reality experience that transported the students to the icy landscapes of Antarctica. This immersive experience allowed them to explore the remote environment, visit Indian research stations, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with polar research.

Inspiring Curiosity and Critical Thinking

The exhibition at NCPOR was an excellent opportunity for our students to learn about the importance of polar and ocean research. By providing a unique and interactive experience, it sparked curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking among the students. The event served as a catalyst, inspiring our young minds to pursue careers in STEM fields and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge.

A Day to Remember

The silver jubilee celebration at NCPOR was a day filled with excitement, discovery, and inspiration. Our students returned to school with a newfound appreciation for polar research and a sense of wonder that will stay with them forever. We are grateful to NCPOR for providing this enriching experience and look forward to future collaborations.
