As part of the Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign, PM SHRI Government High School, Morpirla, Quepem, conducted a successful one-hour cleanliness drive on September 25. The event saw active participation from students, teachers, and parents, showcasing the true spirit of Shramdaan and collective responsibility toward a cleaner India.
Students at PM SHRI GHS Morpirla celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday with heartfelt creativity, forming the number "75" with their bodies and crafting personalized greeting cards. As part of Seva Pakhwada, they also took a strong pledge—both physical and digital—for a cleaner, greener future.
To commemorate PM Narendra Modi’s birthday, the Goa Government will hold a 16-day Seva Pakhwada from September 17 to October 2, 2025, featuring campaigns around cleanliness, Vocal for Local, tree plantation, and awareness of central schemes.
The Central Government has ordered the States to urge in ‘Fast-Track’ cleanliness drive, yesterday. The Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal today advised States and Union Territories to fast-track cleanup of dirty spots with high focus on visible cleanliness. Mr Manohar further said that the ministry has drafted a framework for time-bound clearance of these urban lands, that will focus on regular reviews and aggressive monitoring by states, citizen mobilization and interface for mapping CTUs via Swachhata App, mr Mahnohar said,”The CTUs is about converting eyesores into areas of pride, restoring dignity of public spaces and ensuring that cleanliness is not just on paper but visible and felt”. The ‘Fast-Track’ cleanliness drive has been a talk for a while, where the Central Government has emphasised the ‘Swach Bharat’ movement which was inspired by Indian peacemaker and freedom fighter Late Shri Mahatma Gandhi, is even today taken the toll to urge people in making an India a ‘Clean Country’ and ‘A beautiful diverse place’.The Swachh Bharat Mission was launched on October 2, 2014, by the Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, in Rajghat in New Delhi, with a focus on making India Open Defecation Free (ODF).
The City of Panaji has been conferred the coveted Presidential Award in the Swachh Survekshan 2024 rankings. Mayor Rohit Monserrate and Commissioner Clen Madeira will receive the national honour from the President of India on July 17 in New Delhi, recognising the capital city's outstanding efforts in urban cleanliness and sanitation.
