AAI Kicks Off Inter-PSU Football Championship 2026: A Celebration of Synergy, Sportsmanship and the Spirit ofthe Game


The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has officially kicked off the Inter-PSU Football Championship 2026, transforming Goa into a hub of competitive sport, camaraderie, and celebration. Designed as a premier sporting platform for India’s Public Sector Undertakings, the tournament reflects AAI’s continued commitment to fostering fitness, teamwork, and a vibrant sports culture within the public sector.

The championship brings together 12 elite PSU teams, including AAI, Bank of Baroda, Coal India, CAG, EPFO, ESIC, FCI, RBI, SAIL, Union Bank and others. Over the course of a week, these teams will compete in a league-cum-knockout format, ensuring intense matches, high-energy performances, and sustained engagement for players and spectators alike.

Beyond competition, the tournament carries a larger purpose. It seeks to strengthen inter-organizational bonds and promote a “Fit India” lifestyle among employees, reinforcing the idea that physical fitness and teamwork are essential to professional excellence. The football pitch becomes a shared space where collaboration, resilience, and mutual respect take centre stage.

Speaking on the occasion, Flt. Lt. Akash Deep, Airport Director, Goa International Airport, Dabolim, highlighted the broader vision behind the initiative. He noted that the spirit of collaboration witnessed on the football field directly translates into professional synergy, adding that the tournament is not merely about scoring goals, but about building unity and shared purpose within the public sector. He also described the championship as a major football event coinciding with the vibrant Goa Carnival season.

The Inter-PSU Football Championship 2026 will be held from 14th to 19th February 2026, with matches hosted at two prominent venues—PJN Stadium, Fatorda, and Rosary Ground Stadium, Navelim. The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for 15th February 2026 at 9:00 am at PJN Stadium, Fatorda, and will be graced by Shri Vipin Kumar, IAS, Chairman, Airports Authority of India.

As a Mini Ratna Category-I Public Sector Enterprise, the Airports Authority of India plays a pivotal role in developing and managing India’s civil aviation infrastructure. Goa to Host Global PR Powerhouse: International Communication Conclave Kicks Off on Sept 26


Panaji, September 24: Goa is all set to welcome some of the most influential voices in public relations, communications, and media, as the Global Communication Conclave organized by the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) begins on September 26. The event, which will span two days at the prestigious Fern Kadamba Hotel, promises to be a landmark gathering of national and international delegates under the central theme, “The Power of Public Relations.”

The inauguration ceremony, scheduled for the morning of September 26, will be a high-profile affair. It will be graced by the Governor of Goa, P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, alongside Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shripad Naik, and Goa’s Tourism Minister, Rohan Khaunte. According to Deepak Narvekar, Head of PRCI’s Goa Chapter, the conclave aims to facilitate meaningful dialogue on the evolving role and power of public relations in a rapidly changing media landscape.

The conclave will bring together communication professionals, scholars, government officials, and corporate leaders from across India and abroad. One of the event’s most anticipated moments is the conferring of the prestigious Chanakya Awards. These accolades recognize distinguished professionals, officials, and emerging young achievers who have made exceptional contributions to the field of public relations. The awards will be presented by the Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, as confirmed by Nikhil Wagh, Secretary of the PRCI Goa Chapter.

Day two of the conclave will continue with insightful sessions and discussions, featuring dignitaries including Union Minister Shripad Naik, Goa MLA Ganesh Gaonkar, and noted South Indian actress Esther Noronha. Their participation reflects the diverse scope of the conclave, bridging the worlds of governance, entertainment, and communication.

In preparation for the event, a strategic review meeting was held by PRCI’s national and state-level leadership. Key figures in attendance included M.B. Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hosts IIFT Students for Trade and Documentation Session

The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) today welcomed a group of 44 students from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), along with faculty coordinators led by Dr. Siddharth Shankar Rai, for an immersive academic session as part of their port visit programme in Goa.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, established in 1962 under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is one of India’s premier B-schools with global AACSB accreditation. Renowned for its specialized focus on international trade, the institution places strong emphasis on real-world exposure through industry visits and experiential learning modules.

The session began with a warm welcome by Mr. Kiran Ballikar, Director at GCCI, who introduced the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to support trade and industrial growth in the region. He highlighted the strategic role played by GCCI in promoting Goa’s business interests at a regional and national level.

Following this, Ms. Pallavi Arondekar, Director, GCCI, offered an overview of Goa’s historical trade connections, tracing the state’s long-standing economic linkages across the Indian Ocean and beyond. She also shed light on Goa’s current economic landscape, including tourism, mining, shipping, and manufacturing.

A key highlight of the session was a detailed explanation by Ms. Sanheeta Naik, Information Officer at GCCI, on the process and importance of Certificates of Origin, a critical component in international trade that ensures the authenticity of exported goods. Her explanation was supplemented by an engaging talk from Mr. Bikash Singh, a seasoned expert in global logistics and trade compliance, who discussed the real-world applications of documentation in international trade and the complexities of supply chain regulations.

The event was compered by Ms. Ambika Dhakhenkar, Deputy Director at GCCI, ensuring the smooth flow of the session and coordinating the engaging interactions between speakers and students.

The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Rai, who expressed appreciation to the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry for facilitating a learning-rich experience. He acknowledged the value such industry interactions bring to IIFT students in preparing them for leadership roles in global trade and commerce.
