Must Have in Your DSLR Camera Kit

Hello My Ally,

Good Afternoon, Yes the sky is indeed very beautiful these days especially in Goa. I am not sure how the same is in your city, maybe you could share me your pictures and tell me about the same. To share use the hashtag of #TravelwithAllycaral and I will pick Top 5 and feature the same on the blog soon! So hurry!

Yes I know that today is a Tuesday! I am back to give you tips that will help you while you travel. I know that this is the day, many of you’ll anticipate to hear the #BeingAllycaralTuesdayTips … So without wasting much of your time let me get started with the must haves in your DSLR camera kit for a beginner! First of all Traveling with DSLR needs proper precautions, You need to have a proper bag that fits in your accessories perfectly.

In this post today, I will quickly take you through with my kit, which I use when I travel. So let’s get started.

  1. DSLR Camera – Selecting a DSLR Camera takes a lot of time, and consumes a lot of energy too because figuring out the right camera often keeps you wondering will that ever be in your budget. Well, the same case was with me, but guess what finally I made a decision and brought home this hunk who is by my side through all the ups and down in my life capturing moments of joy and happiness and also bearing with me when I refusing to stop clicking several pictures at one go. Presenting my Camera – D5100. Yes, currently it isn’t the latest model but it helps me to do what things and click pictures just the way I want to. For now, this is my best partner. The most important tip when you buy a DSLR is remember equipment is important but the important thing is the person who will operate the same because equipment alone cannot do anything and so your vision is important – Always remember that.
  2. Lenses with Hood – I have two different lenses one is the basic Nikkor 18 -55mm & second is the telephoto, zoom lens of Nikkor 55- 200mm. Initially, I had just the first one which I mentioned that by itself does a lot of my work. I have done several shoots on that one lens and trust me it gives me brilliant results. I went in for the latter because I like clicking birds, wildlife and most importantly the moon! Several times it also gives me a lot of candid pictures amusing everyone with the beautiful Candid that I click. Ofcourse there are several more one could go for like the 35mm lens or for that matter 50mm which is ideal for portrait photos.
  3. Camera Battery – The one I use for now is the Nikon Lithium Ion Battery Pack of 7.4V which is more than enough for a day out non- stop pictures. Have used it several times when I was abroad and it gave me good results without draining. But if you plan for a long day for a shoot like for videoshoot then I would suggest go in for an another battery of the same kind that will surely help you have a hassle free shoot. Most Important, always keep your camera batteries fully charged before your shoot and keep atleast one in your camera bag, because several times you tend to forget the one you have kept for charging when you rush for shoots. So if you keep a fully charged Battery in your bag, no matter what you will always have one fully charged battery in your bag.
  4. Memory Card – With regard to the memory cards I use a class 4 of 4GB  & Class 10 of 16 GB both of San Disk SDHC. The same is because one card I use for photos while the second I use for videos. Class 10 and above one can shoot videos on your camera giving more space to save the content too.
  5. Camera Lens Filter – Often neglected but one of the most important accessory every camera should have to prevent the lenses from harsh direct sunlight – I use currently a Hoya HMC – 52mm.

Remember one thing, when you purchase a DSLR keep in mind not all things will be required in your kit to get good pictures. So if you go to purchase camera accessories at the shop don’t buy everything at a go, if the same will be used in practical situations then only go ahead. Remember always to have a cleaning accessories in your camera bag like that of a cloth or a brush. And I feel there you are all set to take the best pictures.

Do tell me what you feel about this article, like comment share and tell me if this article helped you using the hashtag #TravelBeingAllycaral. Till then, Take care and all the very best.

Checklist For Home Before You Travel

Hello Allys,

We are here on a Tuesday, and I am all set to give you tips that will help you plan your travel wisely. This week, I thought of giving tips about what things you need to keep in mind before you leave your home for a vacation or a trip.

Very simple as it sounds but definitely it is these simple things that usually slips out of our heads. But don’t worry, I have penned down a quick checklist about these things you need to keep in mind – a checklist for home before you travel.

To get started with first things first:

  1. Dispose the garbage from the bins.

Yes this is one of the most common things which are usually skipped, in the excitement of planning and packing for the trip. So it is of utmost important to dispose the garbage from your house. Several times what happens is, you have a wonderful vacation and when you return and open your main door, you get a stench of some bad odor. The same is of the garbage in your house which remained indoor because all the doors and windows were locked. (The feeling and the smell is seriously bleh…)  So do keep this thing in your mind.

  1. Finish Food Items

Yes, Food items need to be finished especially like vegetables, fruits to avoid the rotting of the same which indeed would add stench which in case you didn’t dispose the trash from house would.

  1. Pay Due Bills

Make sure you paid all your due bills. As I am sure, none of us would like it, when we return home from a vacation only to find there is no electricity nor water.

  1. Make arrangement of pets/plants

We love our pets and plants and it is very difficult to part away from them. But if we cannot take our pets on a vacation we need to make provision to see to that in our absence they are not hungry or in bad condition. So either you can ask your friend to take care of them or your neighbor by giving them all the required material like food items, keys of the place the pet would be in so that they too are happy while you vacay. Same thing with the plants, ask your friends or neighbor to water the plants or else in case you don’t have anyone around you can keep the plants in your bathroom and leave slightly the tap on and arrange the plants in such a way that they get water though it may be little by little they atleast will get something other than just being dry and gradually dying.

  1. Close/Lock Doors in Your Absence

It is essential to lock down doors and windows securely in your absence. As you wouldn’t want to have an unexpected guest over when you may be having a wonderful vacation elsewhere.

  1. Unplug electronic Items

Unplug your computer system, fridge; AC plugs from the sockets, as you never know what might happen, considering fluctuations in electric currents.

  1. Notify Familia and Friends

Most Important notify your close friends and family about the trip where you will be going and for how long.

I hope the above article was useful. If you have any suggestions, Likes, Comments, feel free to share the same on the Page and do refer the page to your friends and relatives too – https://allycaralgoa.wordpress.com/

Until the next time!
