Hello June – New Month, New You

Hey Guys!

We have almost reached half way through 2020 and all I can say – What a year it has been so far. Within just 06 months we came across situations and circumstances that questioned us about several things. Right from things that we took for granted to the fact that we have reached a stage where in order to be safe and to safeguard others we had to be at home.

Things that we so took for granted like may be going out for buying groceries, breathing without a mask, going out of the house freedom. Today we all are highly aware of how privileged we are to enjoy all these little things of life. Breathing fresh air, going out of the house without mask, stocking of groceries.

As we begin this new month today of June – I felt we should take a moment to make note of the things that we are grateful about – Be it a roof over our head, Be it a Safe Place to Live in, Having atleast essentials at home, Having Internet that helps us connect to our near and dear ones, in this difficult moment being safe, having our loved ones by our side and seeing them safe.

I know we haven’t reach the end, the Covid 19 pandemic is still on and we all have to live with it. But this is by itself a huge lesson, this whole process or experience taught us – to have greater appreciation for the small things in life, because the small things are really the big things. Will always look back to this phrase with gratitude. #GraciaGod๐ŸŒผ

Have an amazing rest of 2020. Remember it is still not over, let’s make the most of the rest of 2020. Still have high hopes that #2020ismine๐Ÿฆ‹

You know what’s Today’s biggest To Do List? ๐Ÿ˜€

Our Life’s have always been so challenging. But, there has been a huge change that we have noticed in us and our lives, over the past couple of days! They say change is good but learning to adapt to it can be a little disturbing and demanding. Today, this post plans to add the top most priority of the day in your To do List – which is nothing but – Date : Today and To Do : Be Happy.

The smallest Quote ever, but this is something we are forgetting getting too much involved into what’s happening around us. give time to everything. Everything is happening in your life at the right time, don’t force anything. Forcing something simply, let me put up a simple example : You have a pen which has a pointed buckle and not a flat one, no matter how much you try the pen will not stand, if you force it to it will often fall because that is absolutely not it’s work. It’s work is to be held and written on blank papers.

Same way, in your life, don’t force things. Things that flow works out way better than the ones that you force. And Remember in this all, Be Happy not for anyone else but for yourself.

Documenting this Journey of #Life – 5 Years at an Organisation, I thought I would Never Join!

Hey Guys!!!

Hope you all are doing fine! I’m back again this Sunday with a purpose to share an insight of my life.

What can happen in 5 Years?

Someone can Graduate, a child learns to be self sustained. Well a lot can happen in 5 Years.ย  One such instance is here…

Yes, it all began 5 years ago in 2015. I graduated from St. Xavier’s Mapusa – Goa headed towards a new journey, not knowing what I will be doing nor understanding how challenging the life circumstances would be. But I knew what ever I will be doing, I would be the best version of myself.

Rewind to 5 Years Backย

It was in April 2015 when we had a lot of companies visiting our college for campus interviews and we were desperately in search of job not because we didn’t have money but because I have been working all my life, either for a non paid internship during my college breaks or freelancing for a magazine. (For which, my first article payment was Rs. 200 ) My first memory of this was special as I was hardly in second year but looking at my hard work, I was offered a full time job which I somehow wasn’t keen on. Nevertheless, we had a lot of companies visiting us for job hiring.

One such company was a New Local Cable Television Channel, who was hiring staff. I had my interview and I thought I did great because I had already worked previously in one of the local television channels as an intern so I was like I will nail this interview. But I was asked one the most basic question during the interview which I rightly answered and spoke just the normal way as I usually would. And I was told we will call you once your exams are done (Our Final Year Practical Exams were pending and were suppose to end by April End) I still remember that day, I came out after the interview and met my HOD who was waiting outside like an anxious parent – who would wait to hear how their child did during exam.ย  So I told her directly, this person asked me a basic question, And I was like – I will never work in this place.

2 x Fast Forward

Exams were over and we were on a break! Well after that interview, I did attend a couple of interviews in different places too as I was very firm that I will not be working there. And what was amazing was, I got selected in all the other places but somehow I wasn’t so keen on taking up the job, something kept me waiting, like something within me.

STAY COOL THIS SUMMER WITH THE RIGHT DIET

Author : Dt. Mrs Rohini Diniz

Hello Ally, Hope you all are doing absolutely fine! Summers have arrived and so has the heat wave. I’m sure we have read several Dos and Don’t about the Heat Wave, so in order to cope with the same what exactly should we do? A major question in the minds of the people.

Why worry! As this week in the #BeingAllycaralTuesdayTips โ€“ we have penned down how to Stay Cool this Summer with the Right Diet.

We all know, Summer is one of the most difficult seasons of the year as the scorching sun coupled with high humidity and hot wind makes life uncomfortable for one and all. The high temperature results in sweating which leads to a loss of fluids along with the electrolytes- sodium, potassium and chloride from the body resulting in weakness, fatigue, muscle cramps and ultimately dehydration which is a serious health risk if left untreated. By having the right types of food and beverages in summer, one can stay cool and energetic even on the hottest of days. So what’s the delay – Let’s get to know the Top –ย  #BeingAllycaralTuesdayTips :

  • As our body cannot store water, maintaining adequate hydration is the biggest challenge during summer since there is a great loss of fluid from the body due to sweating and also through urination. Keep in mind that if the fluid requirement is not met, one is also at risk of developing kidney stones or urinary tract infection. There is nothing like drinking a glass of cool water on a hot humid day. Water is the best zero calorie drink that one can have during summer as it does not add calories to the diet as most other beverages do. It does not matter whether one drinks water plain or chilled. Before going out of the house in the sun drink a glass or two of water and carry a bottle of water along with you to quench your thirst as and when needed.
  • The hot sultry weather dulls the appetite so foods eaten should be light, appetizing and easy to digest. Cold soups, sandwiches, solkadiโ€“rice, curd rice, fruit or vegetable salads and raitas, fruit milkshakes andย smoothies are ideal foods for hot days.
  • Avoid spicy and oily foods.
  • Use low fat milk to prepare milkshakes.
  • Curd based beverages such as lassi, buttermilk (Chas) and smoothies are nourishing and refreshing. These beverages are rich in protein, calcium, vitamin A and B vitamins and also probiotics or good bacteria that have many beneficial effects on health. Make these beverages lower in calories by using fat curd or yoghurt and avoiding excessive amount of sugar.
  • Combine the curd with the pulp of either mango, strawberry or any other fruit of your choice to make fruit lassi. Use a little honey for sweetening instead of sugar. Fed up of the usual beverages? Try something different.ย  How about cucumber lassi or kakdi lassi? Soundโ€™s exotic doesโ€™ntit?. But its simple to make. Blend together curd, grated cucumber and chaat masala to taste till smooth. Serve ice cold on a hot day.
  • Come summer and one can see a wide variety of both wild and cultivated fruits in the markets. Jackfruits, mangoes, guavas, watermelons, kanttam (wild cherry), jambuls, jagomas, boram, chunnaetcare some of the summer fruits available in Goa.Fruits are good sources of natural sugars, vitamins, minerals, dietary fibre and antioxidant compounds all of which are essential for good health. The juicy fruits contain water and help quench thirst and are refreshing foods on hot summer days. It is better to eat fruits whole rather than consume them as juices, since the process of extraction of juice separates the pulp from the juice there is the loss of valuable dietary fibre along with the pulp.

In this difficult moment, all we can say #StayHealthy #StayHomeGoa #StaySafe
