Bank of Baroda Wins Five Honours at IBA’s 21st Annual Banking Technology Awards 2025

Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, has received five awards at the Indian Banks’ Association’s 21st Annual Banking Technology Awards 2024–25, reaffirming its position as a frontrunner in technology-driven banking and innovation. The awards were announced in Mumbai on January 13, 2026.

The Bank emerged as the winner in four categories under the Large Banks segment, including Best AI and Machine Learning Adoption, Best Fintech and Digital Public Infrastructure Adoption, Best IT Risk Management, and Best Tech Talent. In addition to these category wins, Bank of Baroda also received a Special Mention in the Best Technology Bank category.

Commenting on the achievement, Debadatta Chand, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Baroda, said the recognition reflects the Bank’s sustained focus on innovation, strong risk management practices, and the development of a skilled technology workforce. He noted that the Bank remains committed to investing in future-ready digital capabilities to deliver secure, seamless, and customer-centric banking experiences while creating long-term value for all stakeholders.

The awards further reinforce Bank of Baroda’s strategy of leveraging advanced digital solutions to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer service across channels. Bank of Baroda Engages 3.65 Lakh Farmers, Sanctions Rs 5,636 Crore in 8th ‘Baroda Kisan Pakhwada’

Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, has successfully concluded the 8th edition of its flagship rural outreach programme, ‘Baroda Kisan Pakhwada,’ held from 3rd to 15th November 2025. Over the course of the fortnight, the bank engaged with more than 3.65 lakh farmers across the country and sanctioned agricultural loans totaling over ₹5,636 crore. This year, the initiative was themed “Towards Atmanirbharta,” reflecting the bank’s commitment to supporting financial inclusion and empowering India’s farming community.

The programme featured a variety of on-ground activities including Kisan Melas, Kisan Meets, choupals, credit camps, and financial literacy sessions. Farmers were provided with guidance on modern agricultural equipment, drone technology, and financing options for Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and Self Help Groups (SHGs), with several receiving loan sanction letters on the spot.

Baroda Kisan Pakhwada also highlighted the bank’s innovative digital offerings designed to make access to credit faster and more convenient. These included the Digital Baroda Kisan Credit Card, integrated with the RBIH digital land records system, and the Digital Gold Loan, available on the bank’s digital lending platform. These solutions demonstrate the bank’s commitment to making financial services more accessible, simplifying processes, and supporting the agricultural sector’s growth and self-reliance.

Speaking on the completion of the programme, Shri Lal Singh, Executive Director of Bank of Baroda, said, “The 8th edition of Baroda Kisan Pakhwada reflects our continued commitment to serve India’s farmers with solutions that are accessible, reliable, and increasingly digital. Whether through our Digital BKCC, Digital Gold Loan, or our on-ground outreach programmes, the aim is to strengthen our engagement and support by making credit simpler and more empowering for every farmer we reach. Bank of Baroda Wins First Prize in Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar for Excellence in Official Language Use

Bank of Baroda, one of India’s foremost public sector banks, has been honoured with the First Prize under the Government of India’s prestigious Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar scheme for the year 2024–2025. This award recognises the bank’s exceptional contribution to the promotion and effective use of Hindi as the official language across its services and operations.

The award ceremony took place on 14 September 2025, during the Hindi Day celebration and the Fifth All India Official Language Conference held at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar. The honour was conferred by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah.

Accepting the award on behalf of the bank was Dr. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director and CEO of Bank of Baroda. He was accompanied by Executive Director Ms. Beena Vaheed and Mr. Sanjay Singh, Head of Official Language and Parliamentary Committee.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Chand expressed the bank’s commitment to inclusivity through language. “This award reflects the bank’s sensitivity towards its millions of customers who interact in Hindi and other Indian languages and feel more comfortable availing banking services in their native languages,” he said.

Bank of Baroda has significantly expanded its multilingual capabilities across its digital platforms, including its flagship mobile banking app BoB World and WhatsApp Banking services. The bank also ensures that transaction-related SMS, chatbot conversations, and customer support are accessible in Indian languages, fostering a more inclusive and user-friendly banking environment.

The Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar is one of the highest honours awarded by the Government of India to institutions for outstanding performance in implementing the official language policy. This recognition positions Bank of Baroda not only as a leader in banking services but also as a pioneer in promoting linguistic inclusion in the financial sector.

With this award, Bank of Baroda reinforces its commitment to enhancing customer experience by speaking the language of its people – both literally and technologically.

Bank of Baroda Installs Water Purifiers at Cutbona Jetty to Support Fishing Community


Panaji, 6th September 2025: Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, has installed two water purifiers at Cutbona Jetty in the Salcete Block of South Goa. This initiative, part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, is aimed at ensuring safe and hygienic drinking water for the local fishing community and jetty workers.

The event drew the enthusiastic participation of more than 150 jetty workers, community leaders, and officials from various sectors, reflecting strong community engagement.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Shri Prasanna A Acharya (IAS), Secretary, Fisheries & Animal Husbandry, Goa; Shri Lal Singh, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda; Dr. Shamila Monteiro, Director of Fisheries, Goa; Shri Shailendra Kumar Sinha, General Manager & Zonal Head, Bank of Baroda, Pune; and Shri Kumar Keshav, Regional Head, Panaji, Bank of Baroda. Chairpersons of Fishermen’s Federations and Associations, along with other key stakeholders, were also present.

Dignitaries emphasized the importance of clean drinking water in supporting the health, hygiene, and livelihoods of the fishing community. They also encouraged fishermen to take full advantage of banking services, insurance products, and social security schemes to ensure that these benefits reach every eligible household.

As part of its broader financial inclusion drive, Bank of Baroda continues to actively promote government-backed schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), and Kisan Credit Card (KCC). These initiatives help coastal communities access affordable credit, insurance, and social security.

By addressing health and hygiene needs alongside strengthening economic resilience, this CSR effort reflects Bank of Baroda’s long-standing commitment to inclusive growth and meaningful social impact within coastal communities.
