Panaji, February 2026: Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju visited the ongoing Goa Book Festival 2026 being held at the D. B. Bandodkar Ground in Panaji. The festival is organised by the National Book Trust, India, under the Ministry of Education, in association with the Government of Goa, Samarth Yuva Foundation, and Lokmanya Cultural Foundation.
During his visit, the Governor interacted with organisers, publishers and visitors, and took note of the wide range of books, literary activities and reader engagement initiatives showcased at the festival. The event brings together authors, publishers, students and book lovers, creating a vibrant platform to encourage reading habits and literary exchange.
The Goa Book Festival 2026 features book exhibitions, author interactions, discussions, and cultural programmes aimed at fostering a reading culture across age groups. The festival continues to attract strong public participation, reaffirming Goa’s growing engagement with literature, education and cultural dialogue.
The 19th edition of the PRCI Global Communication Conclave was inaugurated in Panaji by Governor Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, alongside Union Minister of State for Power Shri Shripad Naik. The event, themed “Power of PR – Emerging Waves of Communication,” brought together top minds from the public relations and communication sectors to discuss how the role of PR is expanding in today’s digital-first, rapidly evolving world.
Organized by the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), the two-day conclave aims to foster knowledge-sharing and spotlight emerging trends in communication. Chairman Emeritus MB Jayaram, Goa Chapter Chairman Shri Deepak Narvekar, and several key dignitaries were present to lend their insights and lend weight to the growing importance of strategic communication in governance, business, and public life.
This year’s conclave was held in association with Rockcity Nidhi, Trichy, and Kosol Energie, Ahmedabad—organizations committed to community engagement and sustainable development. Margao, Goa – In a heartfelt tribute to one of Goa’s most influential freedom fighters and social reformers, Governor of Goa Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju released a commemorative postage stamp and first day cover honouring Laxmidas Borkar. The event was held as part of the concluding ceremony of the Laxmidas Borkar Janmashatabdi Samaroh at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
Organised by the Laxmidas Borkar Janmashatabdi Samaroh Samiti in association with India Post and Ravindra Bhavan Margao, the event brought together dignitaries, scholars, cultural leaders, and members of the public to celebrate the centenary year of a man who played a pivotal role in Goa’s socio-political awakening.
Governor Raju’s presence underscored the significance of the occasion, as he acknowledged Borkar’s life of courage, public service, and relentless commitment to justice.
