18 Juners and Risers Register Thrilling Wins in Advocates Cricket League

Competitive cricket took centre stage at the Chicalim Ground, Vasco, as 18 Juners and Risers registered hard-fought victories in the Advocates Cricket League T20 tournament on Saturday. Impressive performances from Viraj Tar, Akash Kassar, and Kalpesh Kamat ensured both encounters remained closely contested, much to the delight of the spectators. With these results, 18 Juners joined United Brothers in the semifinals, while four teams continue to battle for the remaining two spots.

In the first match, Legal Titans set a challenging total of 161 for 7 in their 20 overs, with Sachin Ramnathkar and Satyam Ghogale contributing 38 runs each and Satchit Mauskar remaining unbeaten on 24. The bowling attack of 18 Juners kept things tight, with Kashinath Posnaik, Rohan Shirodkar, and Viraj Tar picking up two wickets apiece.

Chasing the target, 18 Juners were guided by a decisive innings from Viraj Tar, who struck a composed 62. Pradosh Dangui added valuable support with 27, and the team benefited from crucial extras to reach 162 for 7 in 19.5 overs, sealing victory with three balls to spare despite resistance from Legal Titans bowler Prasad Vaigankar.

In the second match of the day, Lawyer Challengers posted a competitive 179 for 6, built on solid contributions from Dattaprasad Shirodkar, Achit Shigwan, and Vrusaj Talaulikar. Risers responded with confidence as Akash Kassar and Kalpesh Kamat struck fine half-centuries to anchor the chase. Shubham Gadekar’s unbeaten 28, featuring three sixes, ensured Risers crossed the target at 182 for 5 in 19.1 overs to register a five-wicket win.

With the league stage nearing its conclusion, the Advocates Cricket League T20 continues to deliver exciting contests, setting the stage for an eagerly awaited semifinal round.

Risers Win Opener; 18 Juners Seal Second Straight Victory in Advocates Cricket League

Risers and 18 Juners emerged victorious in their respective encounters of the Advocates Cricket League (ACL) 2025–26, played at the Chicalim ground in Vasco on Monday. While it marked the opening match of the season for Risers, 18 Juners continued their impressive form by registering their second consecutive win.

In the first match of the day, Risers defeated Legal Titans by five wickets. Batting first, Legal Titans posted 124 for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs, with Satyam Ghogale top-scoring with 42 and Prasad Vaigankar remaining unbeaten on 31. For Risers, Abhishek Davaskar was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2 for 17.

Chasing a modest target, Risers reached 125 for five in 17.1 overs. Opener Kalpesh Kamat led the charge with a fluent 42 off 30 balls, striking six boundaries and a six, while Anoop Kudtarkar added a valuable 36. Abhinav Marathe remained unbeaten on 23 to see his team home comfortably.

The second match of the day produced a thrilling contest as 18 Juners edged past Lawyer Challengers in the final over. Batting first, Lawyer Challengers put up a competitive 165 for seven in 20 overs, with Vrusaj Talaulikar scoring 44 and Achit Shigwan contributing 33. Krishnakant Hegde Desai and Rohan Shirodkar claimed two wickets each for 18 Juners.

In reply, 18 Juners chased down the target in dramatic fashion, reaching 168 for five in 19.5 overs. Opener Nikhil Ganpule anchored the innings with a composed 53 off 48 balls, while Pradosh Dangui remained unbeaten on 35 and Sachin Sardessai chipped in with 30. The victory sealed 18 Juners’ second straight win of the tournament, keeping them firmly in contention early in the season.
