Goa Tourism Unveils Regenerative Vision at SATTE 2026

Goa Tourism marked a significant presence at SATTE 2026, one of South Asia’s leading travel trade exhibitions, held at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi. The event was inaugurated by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, whose visit to the Goa pavilion added prominence to the State’s participation.

During his visit, the Minister interacted with the official Goa delegation, gaining insights into the State’s evolving tourism roadmap. The delegation highlighted Goa’s strategic focus on regenerative tourism, an approach that goes beyond sustainability by actively restoring and enhancing local ecosystems, communities and economies. This progressive vision positions Goa as a leader in responsible tourism practices in India.

The Goa pavilion emerged as a major attraction on Day 1, witnessing a steady flow of visitors, including domestic and international travel trade representatives. Delegates showed keen interest in the State’s diversified tourism offerings, ranging from its iconic coastal experiences to its lesser-explored hinterland circuits. The display presented a comprehensive picture of Goa as a year-round destination, moving beyond its traditional beach-centric identity.

A key highlight of the showcase was the emphasis on regenerative tourism as a guiding principle for future growth. Anchored in the pillars of people, environment and economy, this approach resonated strongly with stakeholders seeking meaningful and sustainable travel models. The concept drew attention from buyers and partners looking to align with destinations that prioritise long-term impact over short-term gains.

The pavilion also promoted the “Live the Feeling” campaign, inviting travellers to experience Goa in a more immersive and authentic way. Officials noted strong engagement and productive discussions with industry stakeholders, particularly around experiential tourism, infrastructure development and enhanced visitor facilities. IndiGo Flight 6E1025 Returns to Gate After AC Snag, Passengers Allege Poor Communication

Passengers aboard IndiGo flight 6E1025 experienced significant delays after the aircraft returned to the gate shortly following pushback due to unusually high cabin temperatures.

According to airline sources, the issue stemmed from a minor technical snag, likely related to the aircraft’s air-conditioning system. While described as non-critical, the malfunction resulted in uncomfortable conditions inside the cabin, particularly affecting infants and elderly passengers.

Videos circulating online showed tense exchanges between passengers and airline staff, with travellers demanding clearer updates, improved ventilation, and immediate action. Several passengers claimed the air conditioning was intermittently functioning, contributing to rising discomfort inside the aircraft.

Compounding the delay, the operating crew reportedly approached flight duty time limitations around 11 a.m., requiring replacements before the aircraft could depart. This further extended waiting times.

In its response, IndiGo emphasised that safety protocols were followed and that the aircraft was brought back to the gate as a precautionary measure. The airline stated that refreshments were provided and periodic updates were shared with passengers.

However, some travellers disputed the clarity and frequency of communication from the airline during the delay.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has reportedly forwarded passenger complaints for follow-up review. The incident has also reignited discussions around clearer tarmac delay regulations and passenger rights during extended ground delays.

While no injuries were reported, the episode highlights ongoing concerns regarding passenger comfort, communication transparency, and operational contingencies in Indian aviation.

Bengaluru to Goa in 13 Hours? Vande Bharat Set to Transform the Journey

Travelling between Bengaluru and Goa may soon become significantly faster and more convenient, as plans for a new Vande Bharat Express service gather momentum. According to sources, the semi-high-speed train is expected to complete the journey in approximately 13 hours, offering a major upgrade over existing rail options.

The proposed service is likely to operate between Yesvantpur in Bengaluru and Madgaon in Goa, with a tentative departure at 6:05 am and arrival at 7:15 pm. For the return journey, the train is expected to leave Madgaon at 5:30 am and reach Yesvantpur by 6:40 pm. This schedule, while not yet official, provides a glimpse into how the service could reshape travel plans for both tourists and regular commuters.

The route is planned through the Mangaluru railway region, with a notable operational change — the train is expected to bypass both Mangaluru Junction and Mangaluru Central by using the Padil Bypass. This adjustment is aimed at improving travel time and operational efficiency. Additionally, the South Western Railway has proposed increasing speeds on key sections of the route, including boosting the maximum speed between Chikka Banawara and Hasan from 110 kmph to 130 kmph. The challenging Sakleshpur–Subramanya Road ghat section, known for its terrain, may also see a speed increase from 30 kmph to 40 kmph.

The proposal has already been submitted by South Western Railway to the Railway Board, and discussions are currently underway. The announcement of the service will depend on final approval, along with the availability of two Vande Bharat trainsets required to operate the route efficiently.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had earlier indicated plans for introducing the service, following which the ministry sought a formal proposal. With the groundwork now in place, the project appears to be moving steadily toward implementation, though timelines remain subject to official clearance.

Before the service becomes operational, trial runs will be conducted using two Vande Bharat rakes equipped with an Automatic Emergency Braking system, ensuring enhanced safety standards. However, these trials are contingent on the certification and energisation of the overhead electrical equipment on the Hassan–Thokur section, which was recently electrified.

If approved, this new connection could mark a significant step forward in rail connectivity between Karnataka and Goa, benefiting tourism, business travel, and regional mobility. For travellers, it promises not just reduced journey time, but a more comfortable and modern travel experience — potentially making train travel the preferred choice between these two popular destinations.

Barcelona’s architectural icon, the Sagrada Familia, has reached a historic milestone. Workers installed a 17-meter-high white cross atop the basilica’s largest tower, officially making it the tallest church in the world. This crowning achievement comes 140 years after Antoni Gaudi first designed the monumental structure.


The basilica, renowned for its intricate facades and unique fusion of Gothic and Art Nouveau styles, has been under construction since 1882. Gaudi dedicated the latter part of his life to the project, and while he passed away in 1926, his vision has continued to guide architects and craftsmen through decades of painstaking work.
The Sagrada Familia’s tallest tower now rises above the Barcelona skyline, symbolizing both a triumph of human ingenuity and the enduring legacy of Gaudi’s genius. Visitors and admirers from around the globe continue to flock to the site, witnessing history in the making.
