Cyber Crime Awareness Program Empowers Students at Government Polytechnic, Panaji


In a proactive effort to educate students about the dangers of cyber crime, Government Polytechnic, Panaji recently conducted a three-day awareness program for its first-year diploma students. The program, led by Sub-Inspector Yashica Sancoalkar of the Cyber Crime Branch, aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the online world safely.

Panjim, March 27, 2025: The Startup & IT Promotion Cell, Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C), Government of Goa, is set to launch the Goa Open Innovation Challenge 2025 (GOIC 2025) on March 28, 2025, under the leadership of the Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Printing and Stationery, Government of Goa, Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte, and in the presence of Hon’ble MLA and Chairman of Info Tech Corporation Goa, Dr. Chandrakant Shetye. This two-month program aims to bring together startups, students, government bodies and industry to develop technology-driven solutions for key challenges in sectors such as Tourism, Waste Management, Agriculture, NABARD, GPSC and Industry.

The launch event will feature two expert-led masterclasses designed to equip startups with essential insights. “Preparing for Your Fundraising Journey” by Mr. Sachin Karnik, Former President of Mumbai Angel Networks and Founder of The Great Unicorn Hunt, will cover key aspects of fundraising, including the pitfalls and upsides of fundraising, timing the fundraise, understanding fundraising jargon, valuation drivers in real scenarios, shareholder agreement considerations, and negotiation tools for valuation mismatches.​

GoaOnline Services Now Accessible via WhatsApp


Althino, March 15, 2025: The Government of Goa is enhancing citizen convenience by integrating GoaOnline services with WhatsApp. This initiative, led by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics, and Communications, will allow residents to access government documents, certificates, bills, payment receipts, and notifications effortlessly.

GoaOnline, the web-based platform, was initiated in 2017 under the guidance of Late Dr. Manohar Parrikar, with Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, IT Minister, actively supporting its development. This Online platform proved to a blessing to all Citizens specially during the pandemic. The new AI-assisted platform will further enhance their experience and access to 241 government services through Whatsapp.  

Hon’ble Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte emphasized the state’s commitment to digital governance, stating, “We are dedicated to making government services more efficient and accessible—transitioning from manual processes to Web based platform called GoaOnline, then anytime, anywhere door step service delivery called Gramin Mitra and now bringing services directly to citizens’ fingertips via WhatsApp.”

Goa’s WhatsApp-based service aims to make governance truly citizen-centric and easily accessible, The Government of Goa is thus striving to offer a keyword-based system to help users navigate various services efficiently.With this integration, GoaOnline users can check the status of their applications, receive due date reminders, access service pre-requisites, and get step-by-step guidance and apply for all 241 services through WhatsApp.

This marks a significant leap in digital empowerment, ensuring public services are always within reach—from doorstep to fingertip.

First Friday Meetup: Creative Community of Goa Explores AI, Design, and Innovation


Altinho, March 13 2025: The Creative Community of Goa (CCG), in collaboration with the Association of Designers of India (ADI), Goa Chapter, hosted the 10th edition of the First Friday meetup at the IT Hub, Altinho. Supported by the Startup & IT Promotion Cell, Department of IT, and Electronics and Communications, Government of Goa, the event aims to bring together designers, technologists, and entrepreneurs to share ideas and drive innovation.

The event featured a presentation on “Product Design in Goa” by Ms. Reboni Saha, Industrial Designer and Co-founder of Mozaic. Sharing her experience, she stated, “Goa, known for its heritage and culture, has also become a space for product design and innovation.” Having worked in Goa since 1994, she has contributed to industrial design through projects in packaging, transport, and collaborations with local artisans and engineers. The talk highlighted how design is centered around people and how the growth of manufacturing in Goa creates new opportunities for practical and relevant product development.

Mr. Ashok Hegde, Technology Consultant, delivered a talk on “Technology and AI in the Creative Field,” addressing AI’s role in digital art and literature, its impact on authenticity and ownership, and ethical concerns. The session covered tools for detecting AI-generated work and methods such as copyright registration and blockchain authentication to safeguard creative content. He also discussed AI’s role in supporting artistic and literary work, along with the challenges it brings.
