Panaji, November 18, 2025: Member of Parliament Sadanand Shet Tanavade visited the Goa Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 in New Delhi, where he commended the efforts of Goan artists and artisans for showcasing the state’s cultural legacy on a national stage.
Tanavade, who is also a member of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce (DRPSC), was in New Delhi as part of a study visit to review the activities of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the body that organizes IITF. Following the study review, he made a special visit to the Goa Pavilion.
He was welcomed at the pavilion by Assistant Information Officer Shanto Naik and Information Assistant Siddhesh Samant from the Department of Information and Publicity.
Taking a keen interest in the range of Goan handicrafts and cultural displays, Tanavade lauded the department’s efforts in presenting Goa’s rich cultural heritage, artistic traditions, and cuisine at major national events. He interacted with cultural artists and artisans, appreciating their dedication in representing Goa beyond the state’s borders and showcasing their talent to a diverse audience.
The Goa Pavilion continues to draw attention at IITF 2025 for its vibrant display of craftsmanship, culture, and creativity.

New Delhi witnessed a celebration of sporting excellence on November 16, 2025, as the Delhi Sports Journalist Association (DSJA) hosted its Annual Awards Ceremony at the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA). The prestigious event brought together prominent sports journalists, athletes, coaches, and administrators to honor outstanding contributions to Indian sports. Tokyo 2020 silver medalist Mirabai Chanu received the Sportsperson of the Year award, recognizing her exceptional achievements and inspiring journey. Her coach, Vijay Sharma, was awarded Coach of the Year, while Anupam Goswami, Head of Mashal Sports and League Chairman of the Pro Kabaddi League, was honored as Administrator of the Year for his tireless efforts in promoting India’s indigenous sport.
The ceremony also paid tribute to veteran journalists Mr. Pradeep Magazine, Mr. Vipin Bahuguna, and Mr. K.P. Mohan, acknowledging their decades-long dedication to capturing compelling sports stories that resonate with audiences across the country. Chief Guests Rohan Jaitley, President of DDCA, and Virendra Sachdeva, President of Delhi BJP and Secretary General of the Archery Association of India, lauded the contributions of sports journalists in raising the profile of athletes and inspiring future generations.

Hon’ble Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan graced the inaugural Ramoji Excellence Awards 2025 at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, Telangana, as the Chief Guest. Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, has proceeded on an official visit to the United States from November 12 to 17, 2025, with the aim of strengthening the long-standing and robust maritime partnership between the Indian Navy and the United States Navy, which forms a vital component of the India–US Defence Partnership.
During the visit, the Chief of the Naval Staff is scheduled to hold discussions with senior officials of the U.S. Department of War and will also meet Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), and Admiral Stephen T. Koehler, Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet (USPACFLT). These high-level engagements will provide an opportunity to review ongoing maritime cooperation, enhance operational linkages, and further develop mechanisms for information sharing and maritime domain awareness between the two navies.
Admiral Tripathi’s itinerary includes interactions with leading naval institutions and operational commands of the U.S. Navy. The discussions will focus on shared maritime priorities in the Indo-Pacific region and collaboration through multilateral platforms such as MILAN and the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) initiatives.
India and the United States share a long-standing maritime partnership built on mutual trust, shared democratic values, and a commitment to maintaining stability and security in the Indo-Pacific. The visit by the Chief of the Naval Staff reaffirms the Indian Navy’s dedication to strengthening cooperation with the U.S. Navy and advancing the shared vision of a free, open, inclusive, and rules-based Indo-Pacific.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Emerging Science & Technology Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, marking a historic moment for India’s scientific and innovation landscape. Addressing the gathering of over 3,000 participants, including Nobel Laureates, leading scientists, researchers, academics, policymakers, and industry representatives, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for collaboration in the twenty-first century’s fast-changing world of science and technology. “Today is a big day in the world of science and technology,” he said. “There was a great need for experts from around the world to come together to brainstorm on emerging science, technology, and innovation, and to show direction together. This need gave birth to the vision of this conclave.”
As part of the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Modi launched the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme Fund, a ₹1 lakh crore corpus designed to encourage private sector investment in research and development. The fund aims to create capital availability for projects that involve higher risk but carry the potential for large-scale impact. “This ₹1 lakh crore is for you. It is to increase your capabilities. It is to open new opportunities for you,” PM Modi declared, stressing the government’s commitment to promoting research and development within the private sector. He explained that for the first time, India is extending capital support to high-risk, high-impact ventures to accelerate technological breakthroughs.
He also announced the establishment of the *Anusandhan Research Foundation, a new institution that will strengthen research and innovation across universities, creating new pathways for academic and technological advancement. Reflecting on India’s recent scientific milestones, the Prime Minister pointed to the successful launch of *GSAT-7R, India’s heaviest communication satellite, congratulating ISRO scientists for their dedication and vision. He further cited India’s pandemic response, noting how the country developed an indigenous COVID-19 vaccine in record time and executed the world’s largest vaccination drive, enabled by its robust digital public infrastructure.
Alongside the fund launch, PM Modi released a coffee table book showcasing India’s scientific achievements and unveiled a vision document outlining the strategic direction for science and technology in the years ahead. ESTIC 2025 will run as a three-day conclave, featuring discussions across 11 thematic areas including advanced materials and manufacturing, artificial intelligence, bio-manufacturing, digital communications, quantum technologies, energy and climate solutions, and space sciences.
The event embodies India’s resolve to transform from a technology consumer into a global innovation powerhouse. With bold initiatives such as the RDI Fund and the Anusandhan Research Foundation, India is positioning itself to lead the world in deep-tech, research, and innovation — paving the way for a self-reliant, technologically advanced Bharat.
