Majestic Pride Casino, in association with MMA India, has announced the upcoming edition of Majestic Fight Night, set to take place aboard the iconic Majestic Pride ship in Goa. Positioned as a landmark event in India’s rapidly evolving mixed martial arts landscape, Majestic Fight Night 2026 promises a high-adrenaline showcase of combat sports in a premium, immersive setting.

The event will feature bouts across Amateur, Professional, and Seasoned divisions, bringing together some of the most promising and experienced MMA athletes from India and the international circuit. Fighters representing countries including India, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Iraq and Azerbaijan are set to compete, reinforcing the event’s standing as a truly global MMA spectacle.

Sanctioned by MMA India, Majestic Fight Night aims to elevate the domestic MMA ecosystem by offering Indian fighters exposure to international competition while delivering world-class entertainment to fans. The unique setting aboard Goa’s iconic floating casino adds a distinctive dimension to the event, blending sport, spectacle and entertainment into a single experience.

The confirmed fight card for Majestic Fight Night 2026 includes Aarya Choudhary vs Nirjala Badalla in an all-India bout, Ali Akbarpour of Iran taking on Uzbekistan’s Giyosbek Badaila, David Lalmalsawma facing Sagar Chillar, Kazakhstan’s Farkhad Zholdassov against Iraq’s Karar Rahim, Khurshidbek Bozarboev of Uzbekistan versus Ukraine’s Bogdan Kotlovyanov, Erzhan Zhanyshbek Uulu from the Kyrgyz Republic clashing with Mikall Daurbekov of Ingushetia, Russia, and Mridul Saikia of India competing against Maharram Ahmadov of Azerbaijan.

With its blend of international matchups, elite athletes and a distinctive venue, Majestic Fight Night 2026 is set to become a defining moment for MMA in Goa and India, offering fans an unforgettable night of combat sports while strengthening India’s presence on the global MMA stage.

Simran Dhond to Explore ‘Classic vs Contemporary’ Style at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias

Multidisciplinary fashion designer Simran Dhond will deliver an audio-visual lecture titled Classic vs Contemporary – What Every Generation Can Learn About Style as part of the ongoing centenary celebrations at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Miramar, in January 2026. The session aims to explore how timeless fashion principles and modern design sensibilities intersect, influence each other and continue to evolve across generations.

Dhond brings with her a strong academic and professional background in fashion and textiles. She holds a master’s degree from De Montfort University, England, and was awarded a Gold Medal in Knitwear Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bengaluru. Her work has been showcased on international and national platforms, including Leicester Fashion Week and India Intimatewear Fashion Week.

Known for a signature aesthetic that blends technical craftsmanship, sensuality and emotional depth, Dhond has designed across a wide range of categories, from lingerie and shapewear to athleisure and leisurewear. Her design journey includes collaborations with several popular platforms and brands, reflecting her versatility and adaptability within the fashion industry.

Currently, Dhond leads Design and Brand Development at Carbon Tree, a conscious activewear label focused on sustainability and mindful fashion. Alongside this role, she also works independently under her brand Simmydoo, a slow fashion lingerie and sleepwear label rooted in Indian craft traditions, organic materials and comfort-driven design.

The lecture is expected to offer insights into changing fashion narratives, sustainability, craftsmanship and personal style, encouraging audiences to reflect on what classic and contemporary fashion can learn from one another.

The event will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 6 pm at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Miramar. Entry to the lecture is free and open to all interested attendees.

Transcend Goa 2026, India’s first-ever dedicated Transmedia Conclave, was inaugurated on January 15 at Maquinez Palace, Panjim, marking a significant step in Goa’s journey towards becoming a hub for creative innovation and media excellence. The opening ceremony and Day 1 proceedings witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, policymakers, and industry leaders, underscoring the importance of the conclave in shaping future-ready entertainment ecosystems.

The event was inaugurated in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr Pramod Sawant, along with Dr V. Candavelou, Chief Secretary, Government of Goa; Smt Delilah Lobo, MLA – Siolim Constituency and Vice-Chairman, Entertainment Society of Goa; Shri Asvin Chandru, CEO, Entertainment Society of Goa; Shri C. Sajan Raj Kurup, Chairman, Creativeland Group; and Shri Harish Rao, Founder, Bulletproof Entertainment and Co-founder, Goa Future Proof, among other dignitaries and registered participants.

Day 1 of Transcend Goa 2026 set the tone for meaningful dialogue and collaboration through keynote addresses and engaging panel discussions focused on emerging trends in transmedia storytelling, film, digital content creation, and evolving entertainment business models. The conclave provided a dynamic platform for creators, filmmakers, industry professionals, and policymakers to exchange ideas, explore synergies, and discuss opportunities for innovation and investment.

ASTURI 2026 Celebrates Women Entrepreneurship at GCCI Women’s Wing’s Flagship Lifestyle Exhibition

The GCCI Women’s Wing successfully organised the 12th Edition of ASTURI 2026, its flagship lifestyle exhibition dedicated to promoting women-led enterprises and fostering inclusive economic growth. The event reaffirmed the Wing’s long-standing commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs by providing them a vibrant platform to showcase their products, creativity and innovation.

ASTURI 2026 was inaugurated by noted film actress Ms. Varsha Usgaonkar, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Shri M. K. Meena, Director MSME (Ministry of Goa); Shri Premraj Shirodkar, Director – Rural Development, GSRLM; Ms. Pratima Dhond, President – GCCI; Mr. Sangam Kurade, Vice President – GCCI; Mr. Sanjay Amonkar, Director General – GCCI; and Ms. Pallavi Salgaocar, Mentor, GCCI Women’s Wing.

Welcoming the gathering, Ms. Sandra Fernandes, Chairperson of the GCCI Women’s Wing, highlighted the importance of ASTURI as a platform that enables women entrepreneurs to gain visibility, build networks and grow their enterprises. The exhibition was held under the leadership of Ms. Gouri Joshi, Event Chair – ASTURI 2026, with guidance from Mentor Mrs. Pallavi Salgaocar. The event coordination was efficiently handled by Ms. Melane Rodrigues, Assistant Director, GCCI, while Ms. Poonam Ajgaonkar, Co-Chairperson, GCCI Women’s Wing, proposed the vote of thanks.

ASTURI 2026 featured 100 stalls showcasing a wide range of offerings including food products, household items, clothing and wellness solutions, drawing enthusiastic participation and appreciation from visitors. Adding to the festive spirit, several competitions were organised for children and adults, including drawing, fancy dress, healthy dessert and duet antakshari competitions, making the exhibition engaging and family-friendly.

A major highlight of the event was the Asturi Queen Competition, held among women entrepreneurs to celebrate confidence, leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. Ms. Suvarna Salgaonkar was crowned Asturi Queen, while Ms. Daniella Vaz emerged as the Runner-up.

The exhibition concluded with a grand closing ceremony graced by Ms. Deepali Naik, Project Director, DRDA South Goa, as the Chief Guest. Overall, ASTURI 2026 stood out as a vibrant celebration of entrepreneurship, empowerment and the dynamic spirit of women-led businesses.

St. Francis Xavier Parish, Duler Hosts ‘SON-BORN 2.0’ Christmas Fiesta to Welcome the New Year


St. Francis Xavier Parish, Duler began the New Year on a joyful and meaningful note by hosting the two-day Christmas Fiesta ‘SON-BORN 2.0’ on 3rd and 4th January 2026. The celebration brought together parishioners, families and visitors, creating a vibrant platform that blended faith, culture and community spirit.

Held at the St. Anthony School Grounds, the fiesta opened on 3rd January with a lively atmosphere featuring food stalls, children’s activities, face painting and community-run counters. Parishioners showcased their talents through music, poetry and group dance performances, reflecting the cultural richness and confidence within the parish. The first evening concluded with the screening of the Konkani film Mog Asum, adding a reflective cultural dimension to the festivities.

Chief Guest Mr. Joshua D’Souza, Deputy Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly and MLA of Mapusa, described the event as “a lively experience that allows people to know one another,” highlighting the importance of such gatherings in strengthening bonds within the community. Several dignitaries and clergy members were also present on the occasion.

The celebrations continued on 4th January with a variety of engaging activities, including cultural performances, Zumba sessions, youth-led game stalls and the SFX Cultural Pavilion, which showcased the creative and artistic abilities of parishioners. The highlight of the evening was the Konkani tiatr Don Dis Sonvsarantle by Ulhas Tari, staged before a packed audience and received with overwhelming appreciation.

Mr. Vijai Sardesai, MLA of Fatorda and former Deputy Chief Minister, praised the parish for promoting meaningful and positive entertainment. He noted that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening community bonding and preserving Goa’s cultural heritage and Goemkarponn amid a rapidly evolving social landscape.

The parish expressed heartfelt gratitude to all volunteers, performers and attendees whose dedication and support made ‘SON-BORN 2.0’ a memorable and meaningful celebration, reinforcing the values of unity, faith and cultural pride.
