“Grahak Hakka Jagruti”: A New Book by Dhananjay Jog to Empower Consumers


In a significant event for consumer rights awareness, the Directorate of Official Language, in collaboration with the Institute Menezes Braganza, is set to release a new book titled “Grahak Hakka Jagruti” (Consumer Rights Awareness) on February 28, 2025. Written by retired Judge of the Goa Consumer Court, Shri. Dhananjay Jog, this book aims to educate consumers about their rights and responsibilities.

The book comprises the Marathi translation of 50 selected judgments of the Court, providing valuable insights into consumer rights and the legal framework that supports them. This compilation is expected to serve as a vital resource for consumers, lawyers, and judges alike.

The book launch event will take place on February 28, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Institute Menezes Braganza, Panaji. The Chairman of the Institute, Shri. Dasharath Parab, will be the Chief Guest, while the State Information Commissioner, Shri. Atmaram Barve, will be the Guest of Honour.

The Directorate of Official Language has appealed to the public to attend the function in large numbers, emphasizing the importance of consumer rights awareness in promoting a fair and just society. By attending the event and engaging with the book’s content, individuals can empower themselves with knowledge and contribute to a more informed and aware consumer community.

Vice President of India Launches Gopichand Hinduja’s Book “I Am?”


Mumbai, February 8, 2024: In a significant event, Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, launched a thought-provoking book titled “I Am?” compiled by Gopichand Hinduja, Chairman of the Hinduja Group. The event was attended by an eminent group of leaders from the political and business classes, along with members of the diplomatic community.


Addressing the gathering, Vice President Dhankhar stated, “This book underscores the universal relevance of Bharatiyata, virtuosity that is discernible in all faiths. 38th Rajbhasha Diwas Celebrations: Promoting the Official Language of Goa


The 38th Rajbhasha Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Directorate of Official Language, Government of Goa, in collaboration with Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim. The event was graced by the presence of State Information Commissioner, Adv. Atmaram Barve.

Rajbhasha Diwas is celebrated annually to promote the use of official languages in government offices and other institutions. The event aims to raise awareness about the importance of language in preserving cultural heritage and promoting national integration.

Adv. Atmaram Barve emphasized that the implementation of the Official Language Act is a collective responsibility of all citizens, including government officials. He stressed that it is essential for everyone to work together to promote the official language of Goa, Konkani.

The Directorate of Official Language has been working tirelessly to promote the use of Konkani language in various spheres of life. The organization provides training programs for government employees, offers translation services, and celebrates events like Rajbhasha Diwas to raise awareness about the importance of language.

The 38th Rajbhasha Diwas celebrations were a resounding success, with Adv. Atmaram Barve’s presence adding significance to the event. Uday Bhembre’s book Yadincho Kurponno will be launched on 13th January


The launch of โ€˜Yadincho Kurponnoโ€™, a memoir by Konkani stalwart and author Adv. Uday Bhembre will be held on 13th January, 2025 (Monday). The book is published by Konkani Bhasha Mandal Goa. Adv. Bhembre has written this book based on his memories of the Konkani language movement. The book launch will be held at 4.00 pm at the Conference at Ravindra Bhavan, Madgaon.

President of the All India Konkani Parishad Fr. Mousinho De Ataide will also deliver the presidential address. Author and critic, Prof. Dr. Bhushan Bhave will be the chief guest and author and teacher Shri. Anant Agni will be the guest of honour, said Mangaldas Bhat, Secretary of Konkani Bhasha Mandal.

The book is based on the struggle of the Konkani language and the experiences of being a witness to this struggle, said Ratnamala Divkar, president of KBM. Ratnamala Divkar has requested the public to attend the launch of this historically important book in large numbers.
