The Jamaat e Islami Hind Women’s Wing, in partnership with Healthway Hospital, recently organized a free medical camp in Vasco, dedicated to improving women’s health in the community. This thoughtful initiative addressed a critical need, as many women often neglect their own health due to various reasons. Mrs. Naazmeen Khan, a prominent member of the Women’s Wing, emphasized that the camp was a sincere effort to serve society by reaching women who might otherwise hesitate to seek medical care.

The camp offered a range of general health screenings, including checks for diabetes, hypertension, orthopedic concerns, gynecology, and skin ailments. A physiotherapist was also present to provide expert advice and guidance. Dr. Ankit Nair, a specialist in general medicine, highlighted the importance of such camps in expanding healthcare access through comprehensive investigations and consultations. Dr. Rini Naik, a gynecologist, stressed the need for regular health checkups and early detection, especially for conditions like cancer, encouraging women to be proactive about their health. Additionally, she shared information about Healthway Hospital’s discounted test schemes, making essential diagnostics more affordable.

Dr. Anupama Kuchadkar, a dermatologist, urged women to seek care from experienced medical professionals rather than relying on over-the-counter remedies, which may not address underlying conditions effectively. Mrs. Khan expressed deep appreciation for the doctors and the organizing team, whose commitment and teamwork were instrumental in the success of this medical camp.

Over 60 women from diverse age groups and socio-economic backgrounds took part in the camp, benefiting from personalized consultations and screenings. The clinical breast examinations conducted raised awareness about early cancer detection, a vital aspect of women’s health. The camp was well-organized and created a supportive environment where women felt comfortable and informed about their health.

Initiatives like this free medical camp underscore the importance of community-driven healthcare efforts and serve as a reminder that early diagnosis and regular health maintenance can save lives. Through collaboration and dedication, the Jamaat e Islami Hind Women’s Wing and Healthway Hospital continue to empower women in Vasco by ensuring they have access to quality medical services.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Holds the Longest Tenure

Written by Intern Queeny George M.H. Team Allycaral

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has set a historic benchmark by becoming the longest-serving Finance Minister of India. A seasoned economist and senior BJP leader, Sitharaman has held the position of Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister since 31 May 2019.

She has now presented eight Union Budgets — a record unmatched in recent Indian history, second only to former Prime Minister Morarji Desai. In February 2024, she equaled Desai’s record of six budgets, and by 2025, she surpassed it by delivering her eighth budget. Her legacy also includes being the first person to present a Union Budget in the newly inaugurated Indian Parliament building, adding another historic milestone to her tenure.

Nirmala Sitharaman’s political journey is as remarkable as her policy work. She has been a member of the Rajya Sabha since 2016, representing Karnataka, and had earlier served as a member from Andhra Pradesh between 2014 and 2016. On 3 September 2017, she was appointed India’s Defence Minister — making her only the second woman to hold the position after Indira Gandhi, and the first full-time female Defence Minister of the country.

Born on 18 August 1959, Sitharaman has consistently balanced economic prudence with political responsibility. Her long and continuous service in key ministerial roles demonstrates her influence and leadership within the government and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Her unprecedented run as Finance Minister marks a turning point in India’s political and administrative history, particularly with regard to women’s leadership in top executive roles.

‘Kalash’ Worth ₹1 Crore Stolen from Red Fort During Jain Ceremony

Written by Intern Queeny George M.H , Team Allycaral

A kalash worth nearly ₹1 crore was stolen from within the Red Fort complex in Delhi during a Jain religious ceremony held in early September 2025. The gold object, weighing approximately 760 grams and embedded with around 150 grams of diamonds, rubies, and emeralds, was part of a daily religious ritual performed by businessman Sudhir Jain.

The theft took place at 15 August Park, an area inside the historic Red Fort that had been hosting the ongoing Jain worship activities. Witnesses and preliminary reports suggest that the thief was disguised in religious attire, blending in with the attendees before escaping with the sacred object.

What has shocked many is the timing and setting of the incident — amidst a large crowd that included public figures such as Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The presence of high-profile attendees did not deter the thief, who reportedly took advantage of the crowd’s movement during the event to commit the crime unnoticed.

Security agencies and Delhi Police have launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses. The stolen item not only holds immense monetary value but is also considered spiritually significant to the Jain community.

The incident has raised concerns over security measures during religious gatherings at heritage sites, especially when high-value items are involved. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the recovery of the stolen kalash.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the search continues.

Natural Satellite Moon on its ‘Striking’ Eclipse Performance This Year!

Written by Intern Queeny George M.H , Team Allycaral

2025 is proving to be an extraordinary year for skywatchers, with the Moon taking center stage in a series of awe-inspiring celestial events. The spectacle began on September 7 with a breathtaking Blood Moon Eclipse. As Earth’s shadow passed across the Moon, it was transformed into a glowing orb of deep reds and copper tones — a result of sunlight bending through our planet’s atmosphere, the same atmospheric scattering that paints fiery sunsets.

But the Moon’s performance doesn’t end there.

On October 7, the first Supermoon of the year will rise. At perigee — the point in its orbit where the Moon is closest to Earth — it will appear noticeably larger and brighter than usual. Its silvery radiance on the horizon will offer a spectacular view for anyone willing to look up.

Then comes the true showstopper on November 5: the biggest and brightest Moon of 2025. This particular Supermoon will be the closest full Moon of the year, making it appear up to 30% larger and casting a brilliant glow across the night sky. A perfect moment for photographers, astronomers, and dreamers alike.

Finally, the lunar calendar concludes with the December 4 Supermoon — the last of the year. Arriving with winter’s chill, this Moon will bring a cool, luminous light to the long nights, marking a peaceful and poetic finale to the Moon’s stunning 2025 run.

The Moon, our natural satellite, continues to inspire and astound. Whether casting an eerie red glow or shining in full brilliance, its presence in the night sky connects us to ancient rhythms and timeless wonder. With more striking events still to come, 2025 is truly a year to keep your eyes on the sky.
