Panaji: The Goan Seamen Association of India has successfully elected its new executive body for the 2026–28 term. Joseph Assis Fernandes has been appointed President, taking the lead in representing and strengthening the interests of Goan seafarers.
Supporting him as Vice Presidents are Capt. Christopher Fernandes and Santan Pereira, while Michael Beny Da Costa has been named Secretary and Cheng Jose Moris Gomes will serve as Treasurer. The executive team also includes other key office bearers who will work alongside the leadership to promote the welfare and professional development of the maritime community.
The new body aims to focus on enhancing the support system for Goan seafarers, fostering community initiatives, and addressing industry-related concerns. With this leadership in place, the association looks forward to an active and impactful tenure, building stronger connections within the maritime fraternity and beyond.
