The Bandora Judo Championship 2026 was successfully conducted in Ponda, marking another milestone in the growth of martial arts in Goa. Organised by Bandora Judo Club in association with Madhavrao Dhavlikar Charitable Trust, the event took place at Nageshi, Bandora on April 4, 2026.
The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 250 players across Goa, competing in multiple categories including Sub-Junior, Cadets (Boys and Girls), and Seniors (Men and Women). The tournament highlighted both emerging talent and experienced athletes, reflecting the growing popularity of judo in the state.
The event was inaugurated by Mithil Dhavlikar, who encouraged the participants and emphasized the importance of discipline, focus, and dedication in sports like judo.
After a series of competitive and action-packed bouts, Jaya Dojo Club clinched the championship title, showcasing outstanding performances across categories. Warriors Training Center secured the runners-up position, while the host team Bandora Judo Club finished third.
Several athletes were recognised for their exceptional performances during the tournament. Purti Lotlikar was awarded Best Player in the U17 Girls category, Arya Kadam in Senior Women, Devraj Lamani in Senior Men, Adhiraj Bandodkar in U17 Boys, Swasti Yadav in U15 Girls, and Aryan Singh in U15 Boys.
Speaking on the occasion, Reshma Kankonkar and Allaudin Sandi highlighted that their mission is to promote judo across Goa and nurture young talent capable of representing the state and the country at higher competitive levels.
The championship concluded on a high note, underlining the increasing interest in martial arts in Goa and providing a platform for athletes to showcase their skills and competitive spirit.
