The Beyond Barriers initiative recently organised an insightful seminar titled “Litigation Revolves! Mediation Resolves!” at V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, bringing together law students, academicians, and legal professionals to explore mediation as a progressive alternative to traditional litigation
The keynote session was delivered by K. S. Sarma, a renowned mediator and collaboration coach, who highlighted the growing importance of mediation in modern legal systems. He emphasised that mediation not only saves time and financial resources but also helps preserve professional and personal relationships—an aspect often compromised in adversarial court proceedings.
The seminar was further enriched by the presence of Sayonara Telles Laad, who shared her judicial perspective on the evolving landscape of dispute resolution. Drawing from her extensive experience, she underscored the need for legal practitioners to adopt more collaborative and less confrontational approaches.
Adding practical insights to the discussion, Savio Travasso contributed to the dialogue, offering valuable perspectives from the field and reinforcing the applicability of mediation in real-world legal scenarios.
The event was seamlessly coordinated under the guidance of Varsha Redkar, along with Tanvi Khandolkar and Saloni Banaulikar, ensuring an engaging and well-structured experience for attendees.
The seminar concluded with a strong message encouraging participants to become future-ready by embracing mediation as a primary tool in dispute resolution, fostering a more harmonious and efficient legal ecosystem.
