Air India Celebrates India’s Festive Diversity with Special Inflight Meals & Lounge Experiences

Air India has unveiled a unique culinary initiative celebrating India’s rich cultural diversity by introducing festive meals across its inflight services and airport lounges. The airline’s latest offering aims to bring passengers closer to India’s traditions by curating menus inspired by major festivals such as Eid-ul-Fitr, Navratri, and Gudi Padwa.

As part of the Eid celebrations, the airline served the traditional dessert Sheer Khurma across all domestic and international flights on March 20, 2026. The dessert was included in meal services across all cabin classes, ensuring that every passenger could experience the festive spirit regardless of their travel class or destination. The initiative was implemented across multiple catering partners, maintaining consistency in quality and service across the airline’s global network.

Extending the festive experience beyond flights, Air India also curated special menus at its premium lounges. The flagship Maharaja Lounge at Delhi International Airport served a specially designed Navratri thali featuring dishes such as Sabudana Khichdi, Paneer Sabzi, and Kheer, catering to traditional fasting preferences. Meanwhile, the Adani Lounge in Mumbai marked Gudi Padwa with sweets like Shrikhand, Mawa Modak, and Gujiya, offering passengers a regional festive touch.

Further enhancing the experience, the Mumbai lounge also presented an elaborate Eid menu including dishes such as Dal Ghost, Malai Chicken Gilafi Kebab, and Kacchi Murg Biryani, alongside desserts like Shahi Tukda and Phirni. These curated menus reflect the airline’s commitment to blending hospitality with India’s diverse culinary heritage.

This initiative highlights Air India’s focus on elevating customer experience by creating immersive and culturally rich journeys. By integrating traditional flavours into modern travel, the airline continues to strengthen its identity as a global ambassador of Indian culture.
