JCI Vasco organised a meaningful community service initiative titled “UDAK – Free Water Distribution” on March 15, 2026, during the vibrant celebrations of the Shigmo Festival near Damodar Temple.
The initiative was aimed at providing free drinking water to thousands of people who gathered to witness and participate in the traditional Shigmotsav festivities. With large crowds and rising temperatures during the celebrations, the project ensured that attendees had easy access to safe and refreshing drinking water.
The effort proved to be highly impactful, benefiting more than 7,000 people throughout the event. Volunteers worked actively to distribute water efficiently, ensuring that festival-goers remained hydrated and comfortable while enjoying the celebrations.
The project reflected the strong spirit of community service and social responsibility upheld by JCI Vasco. By addressing a basic yet essential need, the initiative contributed to the overall well-being of the public during one of Goa’s most celebrated cultural festivals.
The project was led by President JC Anjali Loran, with the support of Secretary JFD Clinton Fernandes, Vice President (Community Development) JC Kunali Parsekar, Project Director JC Raj Gawas, and Assistant Project Director JC Kshitija Gawas, whose coordinated efforts ensured the smooth execution of the initiative.
Through such initiatives, JCI Vasco continues to make a positive impact in the community, reinforcing the importance of service, care, and collective responsibility.
