GCCI has sought an update on the operational readiness of Berth Nos. 10 and 11 at the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA), highlighting growing interest among industry stakeholders to commence cargo movement through the port.
The berths, currently being developed and operated by Delta Infra Logistics, are seen as crucial infrastructure for enhancing Goaโs cargo handling capacity. In a formal communication addressed to MPA Chairman Dr. N. Vinodkumar, GCCI requested details on the current development status, expected timelines for operationalisation, and any procedural requirements stakeholders must fulfil before initiating cargo operations.
The move comes amid increasing demand from GCCI members, including exporters, importers, cargo handlers, traders, and logistics operators, who are keen to begin operations at the earliest. Clarity on timelines and processes is expected to support better planning and smoother logistics coordination.
To further discuss the matter, a GCCI delegation met with the MPA Chairman on March 16, 2026. The delegation was led by Chandrakant Gawas and included committee members Mario Furtado, Santosh Parab, Mahesh Prabhu, Rakesh Unny, along with Sanket Kaskar, Foreign Trade Officer of GCCI.
During the meeting, Dr. Vinodkumar assured the delegation that container movement from the berths would commence soon. He also indicated that a meeting with Delta Infra Logistics would be held shortly to review the progress and provide an update to GCCI.
GCCI emphasised that timely clarity on the operational status of Berths 10 and 11 will significantly benefit the trade and logistics community in Goa, enabling stakeholders to plan cargo movement efficiently and strengthen the stateโs position as a key maritime trade hub.
