JCI Ponda organised a special Felicitation Ceremony on the occasion of International Women’s Day as part of Aboli Week and Sheros Day, celebrating the achievements of women who have made significant contributions in their respective fields.
The event recognised and honoured eight inspiring women for their excellence and dedication in areas such as yoga, teaching, politics, leadership, business, and social service. The achievers felicitated included Afsha Khan, Urmila Prabhu, Mamta Kumbhar, Teja Prabhu, Pradnya Patil, Priya Gaude, Sharmila Gad, and Daksha Shet Govekar.
The ceremony served as a platform to acknowledge the dedication, perseverance, and impact of these women, whose journeys continue to inspire others to pursue their goals with confidence and determination. Their achievements reflect the growing role of women in shaping society and contributing meaningfully across sectors.
The organisers emphasised the importance of recognising such role models who encourage other women to dream big, take leadership roles, and create positive change within their communities.
The event was led by President Chaitali Agarwadekar, Secretary Srinivas Inamdar, and Project Coordinator Janhavi Shet Tilve, whose efforts ensured the successful organisation of the programme.
The felicitation concluded with heartfelt appreciation for all the awardees, reinforcing the message of empowerment, recognition, and celebration of women’s achievements.
