The Public Relations Council of India Goa Chapter observed Good Samaritan Day at Shanti Avedna Sadan on March 14, recognising the dedicated caregivers who provide compassionate care to palliative patients, many of whom cannot afford paid care.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Narvekar, Chairman of the PRCI Goa Chapter and Deputy General Manager (Marketing/Hotels) and Public Relations Officer at Goa Tourism Development Corporation, said that the caregivers at Shanti Avedna Sadan truly embody the spirit of the Good Samaritan through their selfless service to patients in need.
He also appreciated the cleanliness and serene environment maintained at the institution and commended the management for the respectful and compassionate manner in which both staff and patients are treated. Narvekar further acknowledged the efforts of Jones Samuel for coordinating the event.
Sr. Valsa, Administrator of Shanti Avedna Sadan, thanked the PRCI Goa Chapter for recognising the caregivers and appreciating their dedicated service.
Among those present at the programme were Dr. Mavis Faleiro; Nikhil Wagh, Secretary of PRCI Goa Chapter and Public Relations Officer at Goa Shipyard Limited; Vrundawan Raikar, Member of PRCI Goa Chapter and Assistant Manager – PR & Media at the Entertainment Society of Goa; and Jones Samuel, Assistant Treasurer of PRCI Goa Chapter and Consultant Public Relations Officer at Vianaar Group.
The PRCI Goa Chapter also expressed its appreciation to John James Samuel, a student of Mass Media Communication, for efficiently compering the programme.
The event highlighted the invaluable role played by caregivers who dedicate their time and compassion to supporting patients requiring palliative care, reinforcing the message of empathy, service and humanity.
