Nine-year-old Srisha Suvarnasingh Polle from Podwal in Corjuem, Goa, has once again made her village proud by successfully crossing the iconic Mandovi River on 15 March 2026.
A student of Shiksha Niketan School, Srisha achieved this remarkable milestone at the tender age of nine, completing her second successful crossing of the Mandovi River. She had earlier accomplished the same challenge when she was just eight years old and studying in Standard II, showcasing extraordinary courage, determination, and swimming ability at such a young age.
What makes this achievement even more inspiring is that Srisha did not undergo any specialised private coaching. Instead, she developed her swimming skills through the swimming camp organised by her school, where she nurtured her confidence and passion for the sport.
The event saw the participation of 32 swimmers and was conducted under the guidance of Ajay Naik along with a team of coaches who mentored and supervised the participants during the challenging river crossing.
Srishaโs accomplishment has brought immense pride not only to her family but also to the entire community of Corjuem and Aldona. She is the beloved daughter of Suvarnasingh Ramakant Polle and Rakhee Suvarnasingh Polle, who have been appreciated for encouraging and supporting her determination and passion.
Members of the community have extended heartfelt congratulations to young Srisha for her outstanding accomplishment. Her courage and perseverance at such a young age serve as an inspiration to many other children across the region.
The people of Corjuem and Aldona have expressed their best wishes for her future, hoping she continues to overcome challenges with the same determination and achieves even greater milestones in the years to come.
