The JCI Sanquelim, in collaboration with the Goa Tourism Development Corporation, successfully organised the “Ekadash Tirth” spiritual trip for women to mark the occasion of International Women’s Day.
The spiritual journey was flagged off by Pramod Sawant, who encouraged initiatives that promote cultural heritage and spiritual well-being among women.
The pilgrimage began with prayers and blessings at the sacred Gomanteshwar Temple, where participants offered prayers to Lord Shiva, marking the start of the day-long spiritual experience.
Throughout the day, the participants visited several prominent temples across the region as part of the Ekadash Tirth journey. The spiritual itinerary included visits to the revered Goveshwar Temple, the famous Mhalsa Narayani Temple, the peaceful Sai Baba Temple, and the historic Ananth Temple.
The initiative provided women with an opportunity to come together for a meaningful spiritual journey while celebrating their strength and unity on International Women’s Day. The trip also highlighted Goa’s rich spiritual heritage and the significance of temple tourism within the state.
Participants described the experience as both spiritually enriching and socially uplifting, as it allowed them to connect with fellow women devotees while visiting some of Goa’s revered temples.
The collaborative effort between JCI Sanquelim and the Goa Tourism Development Corporation showcased the importance of community-driven initiatives that promote cultural tourism, spirituality and women’s empowerment.
