GSB Unity Cup 3.0: CD Fountainhead and Desserts N More Avengers Enter Final


CD Fountainhead and Desserts N More Avengers registered impressive victories in the semifinals of the GSB Unity Cup 3.0, organised by the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust, to book their places in the final. Both matches were played on Saturday at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Stadium.

In the first semifinal, CD Fountainhead defeated K K Strikers by 8 runs. Batting first, Fountainhead posted a total of 138 for 9 in 20 overs. Vikrant Prabhu scored 35 runs, while Aditya Prabhugaonkar contributed 30 and Saeesh Prabhu Desai added 17 to help build the innings.

Chasing a target of 139, K K Strikers were bowled out for 130 in 18.5 overs. Aditya Dalal played an explosive knock of 50 runs from just 16 balls but lacked support from the other batters. Pranav Biche delivered a match-winning bowling performance for Fountainhead, claiming 3 wickets for 12 runs in 2.5 overs.

In the second semifinal, Desserts N More Avengers defeated Dempo Challengers by 21 runs. Batting first, the Avengers scored 164 for 4 in their 20 overs. Captain Kaushal Hattangadi led from the front with a crucial unbeaten innings of 53, while Pankaj Naik scored 37 and Smit Dalvi added 27 runs.

Dempo Challengers, chasing 165, managed to reach 143 for 9 in their 20 overs. Sumiran Amonkar scored 44 and Vibhav Pai contributed 41 runs, but their efforts were not enough to take the team across the line. Kaushal Hattangadi also impressed with the ball, picking up 3 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs.

Aditya Prabhugaonkar was awarded the Desserts N More Player of the Match in the first semifinal, while Pranav Biche received the Kamat Realty Hero of the Match award from Anup Borkar and Kapil Angle.

In the second semifinal, Kaushal Hattangadi was named Desserts N More Player of the Match, while Swapnil Kakodkar received the Kamat Realty Hero of the Match award from Anant Kamat and Kapil Borkar.

With these results, CD Fountainhead and Desserts N More Avengers will now clash in the final of the GSB Unity Cup 3.0, which will be played under floodlights at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Stadium, promising an exciting finish for cricket fans.
