The event was originally initiated by Late Shri Ravi Sitaram Naik during his tenure as President of JCI Ponda and has continued annually since then as an important community sporting event.

The event was graced by Shri Ritesh Ravi Naik, Councillor of the Ponda Municipal Council, who attended as the Chief Guest.

Other dignitaries present included:

Enthusiastic Student Participation

The race witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 150 students representing five schools, who displayed remarkable determination and sportsmanship despite the ongoing examination season.

The event aimed to encourage fitness, discipline, and healthy competition among students, while also fostering community engagement.

Special Recognition and Announcement

On the occasion, the Late Shri Ravi Sitaram Naik Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to his son Shri Ritesh Ravi Naik in recognition of his fatherโ€™s contribution to initiating the long-standing sporting tradition.

It was also officially announced that the event will henceforth be known as โ€œShri Ravi Naikโ€™s Annual Running Race.โ€

The event concluded with a medal ceremony and prize distribution, celebrating the achievements of the young participants.

The programme was smoothly compered by Jr. JC Rushank Natekar, Coordinator of the Running Race and Chairperson of the Jr. JC Wing of JCI Ponda, followed by a vote of thanks.

JCI Ponda continues to organise community initiatives that promote youth development, leadership, sports, and social engagement in the region.
