Hotels Across Bengaluru to Shut From March 10 Amid Commercial LPG Supply Disruption

Written by Intern Swara Bodke || Team Allycaral

Hotels across Bengaluru are set to remain closed from Tuesday (March 10) after a disruption in the supply of commercial LPG cylinders, the Bangalore Hotels Association said in an official release.
The association stated that the supply of gas cylinders for commercial use has been stopped, creating serious operational challenges for the hospitality sector. Hotel owners said the sudden stoppage has come as a major blow to the industry across the city.
According to the association, oil companies had earlier assured that there would be no disruption in gas supply for at least 70 days. However, the unexpected halt in supply has forced many hotels and restaurants to temporarily suspend operations.
The Bangalore Hotels Association also highlighted that the hotel industry is classified as an essential service. As a result, the shutdown could affect several groups who depend on hotels for their daily meals, including common citizens, senior citizens, students, medical staff, and others.
Industry representatives added that the hospitality sector will continue to face difficulties until the supply of commercial gas returns to normal.
