Panaji, March 6: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Goa has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant for incorporating several of its recommendations in the Goa Budget 2026–27 presented in the Legislative Assembly.
In a statement, IMA Goa said it appreciates the Chief Minister’s support for the association’s theme, “Embracing Neurodiversity: Together We Care, Connect, and Champion,” which aims to create greater awareness and support for children with neurodiverse conditions.
The association also welcomed the Government’s decision to install sanitary pad vending machines in schools across Goa, describing the initiative as an important step toward improving menstrual hygiene and health awareness among students.
IMA Goa stated that these measures reflect the Government’s commitment to inclusive healthcare and social well-being, particularly for young students and children with special needs.
The association further expressed appreciation for the Chief Minister’s invitation to its members to attend the budget session in the Goa Legislative Assembly. Dr Shraddha Patil and Dr Shekhar Salkar attended the proceedings on behalf of IMA Goa.
Dr Shraddha Patil, President of IMA Goa State, said the association remains committed to supporting the Government in initiatives that promote public health, inclusivity and community welfare.
